Californ-i-a by way of BK
As a Produgy Stan I can say with certain he was never lyrically on they level . Even when he put out a whole album shytting on Jay that I loved, he was still out of the conversation .
Nah P was up there with them at one point. Even Jay when he was on Juan Ep said you can make a case that at one point Prodigy was the best rapper in the game for a short period.

Nah.....we are talking the 94-97 era where the COKE RAPPER reigned supreme in NYC.... (rae, , az, children of the corn etc)

that metaphorical "godbody" flow by RAKIM was respected but "outdated" at this time....

and NAS, BIG and JAY were basically the creme of the crop when it came to this....

it wasn't just an INDUSTRY thing...it was a reflection of what was going on in the streets...

5%ers got replaced by Bloods and B-Boys got replaced by D-BOYS

In a interview I read, biggie stated how he viewed his comp at Mc was, method man and nas

I have to agree with that. Az, prodigy, etc weren't the stars that method was. Meth at this point had a certified classic under his belt and was the most recognizable person from the most popular group at the time

At this point meth was beating jay in every statistical category.
