We already heard news that Captain Marvel is going to be the most powerful hero in the MCU when she makes it on screen. This is weird because she is not that in the comics.

Separately I read that Kevin Feige and other Marvel film execs are like experts on the comics and know every story. AND Kevin Feige's favorite story from the comics is The Dark Phoenix Saga. Is it possible to tell that story in the MCU using Captain Marvel instead of Jean Grey? It would explain why they are just giving her this super powerful status. Do people have an issue if this was the case or nah?

I think most are sensibly aware enough to know that some liberties being taken on any film made from a previous medium is a given, regardless cuz a 1-1 translation of such is just very rare and in a lot of cases, simply can't be done for a variety of reasons. However, some are obviously a lot more glaring and unforgivable than others and also, said liberties are looked at just as such all the more when they're just executed terribly on a multitude of factors.

my man. its criminal that cyclops is a featured guest character in just about every movie hes been in(havent seen apocalypse) instead of being a main focus. it drives me crazy that the best version of colossus is as the straight man to a 4th wall breaking character, and it was a good interpretation as well.

to the casual viewer, it wont matter. carol is a literal non factor. but to readers it would be just another case of carol co opting something that isnt hers in order to make her popular. its like the people that want her to have genis' captain marvel/photon costume because it would look good on film.

it wouldnt surprise me if they tried to do that shyt...like @parallax said: most of the people going to see the movies arent gonna know and/or care where it came from, they just wanna be entertained....it'll be the comic readers that'll call bullshyt/shenanigans....

also, it's not gonna surprise me if/when the inhumans start to have more 'xmen like' stories....strengthen the brand you own/can make movies about, while weakening the brand you dont/cant make movies about...
