That's because she may have. There's far more to producing a song than making a beat and other genres is a completely different ball game. You could have someone write a song, produce the music, play instruments, but if I arranged vocals, that's a production credit. Some people separate the two and some don't.
True I know that but if I don't believe for one bit that Beyonce was the primary producer for Destiny's Child album, go look at the credits for survivor and tell me some bs is afoot.

A lot of yall don't understand the music business and how music is created. Even vocal production and arrangements can be very intricate and requires a keen ear. So even if you didn't write the song and didn't have anything to do with the beat you can produce by telling the artist how to sing the lyrics and telling the engineer how to layer the vocals and which takes to scrap or keep etc.. that's all part of being a producer and it's not easy to do on a high level.

Think about it this way. If what diddy did was so easy there would be a lot more diddys. But there ain't. Everyone doesn't know how to make a hit song or hit album.

Destiny's Child: News Feature: VH1.com plus look at the credits where she's the primary producer from album number 3

All those songs have her sharing credits. Some of that album is produced by Anthony Dent. More likely, she did vocal arrangements, because Dent had a signature sound. The title track, "Survivor", and others sound like the song below:

"Independent Women" is obviously Trackmasters.

Diddy is a curator more than a producer, he has a style he uses that you can hear in his product.

Musically, a curator is the same as a producer. You are overseeing the creation or production of a song. This wouldn't be a difficult concept to grasp if most people on here weren't so stuck on downplaying, devaluing, and discrediting EVERYBODY.

Have you ever watched a Verzuz? Puff has songs he was featured on that would definitely smoke JD. And it was producers in those beat battles playing songs that they contributed to.
It seems that way until JD comes with a response record people forgot about that blows everyone away. Sometimes what you respond with has even bigger impact than the monster record you're up against. Everyone is expecting that record to hold the spot, but when you respond with something crazy people weren't really thinking about, that initial impact is weakened severely. JD has PLENTY of those type of records he could respond to Puff with.
Usher, MC, Jagged Edge, Nelly, Xscape and so many we aren't even thinking about. That's where JD would kill Puff. Similar to how The LOX did Dipset, because they were overconfident.

Breh, Puff has multiple response records and even surprises that would turn the tide in a Verzuz. I mean, even if you hold the Verzuz in Atlanta. There's Flocka and Future remixes that feature Puff. Puff has huge remixes with Mariah including "Fantasy" remix and the "Honey" remix. LOL @ Jagged Edge. They already lost to 112, Puffy's artists.

And LOL @ using a Lox comparison. They were signed to Puff and a major part of Bad Boy's biggest run. The Lox beat Dip Set because they had more legendary records including the mixtape freestyles. They also had bigger better features. Anything Dip Set could throw against the Lox from freestyles to B Sides to hit records, The Lox had records that were bigger, better, and more culturally relevant. On top of that, they were prepared, organized, and better performers.

Above the fray.
I definitely know what producing it. It's bringing the record to life. Telling someone to turn up a snare or adding a "yeah yeah" to a record isn't the need for a co-production credit. I've been in the studio and gave advice like, "change the last bar and mute that one for emphasis on the bar" , but that doesn't make me a co producer on the track. Puff is a goddamn crook
Agree.
He is a crook. He owns the label and makes the lion's share of the revenue for the album, but has to eat food from the bowls of the rappers and beat makers, too.

Reminds me of the guy who put the modern boy bands together. On top of jerking the artists off the top, the little money the groups did get, had to be divided again.....as he was listed as a member of the groups. Extra Backstreet Boy.

There's standard record company exploitation, and then there's over the top crook shyt.

I think JD has a equal or greater response to anything Puff has. It's all about what you respond with.
