Man thats crazy dope!
Im very comfortable with Protools 10/11, Logic Pro X, and Final Cut Pro X.
I was unemployed for a year and paid the mortgage by opening up my studio to the public and charging $20 an hour for vocal recording and sold beats, did some mixing work, etc.
I always thought about how dope it would be to put my passion for audio and video games together and get involved with video game or film audio.
A couple years ago I linked up with some students from Virginia Tech who were working on a video game. It was an RPG. I did all of the battle music, intro music, and a bunch of ambient music. In the end, the project got scrapped and I never got to here my work on a finished video game. Right now I have an Associates in Network Security and Im currently working on my MBA. My plan is to go to school for audio engineering once I finish that.
I live in Virginia Beach, VA which is a weird city. Its the home of Timbaland, Missy, The Clipse, Pharell, and a bunch more, but the actual music scene is dead. Thats the biggest challenge for me. Finding the right people to link up with that are serious about getting something done.
Yeah I mean just the fact that you know how to use ProTools is very valuable. You probably know more about routing/signal flow/ mic technique/mixing than me and most people that come fresh out of these schools, so you have a leg up. Working on indie games is definitely the way to go if you wanna break into sound for games. For tv/film, you gotta network, meet indie filmmakers and/or contact your local studios. I'm sure there's at least one in VA.

That's dope though that you're giving this a shot. Just research hard on the school! Check the linkedin's of sound designers and what not and see what school they've gone to.

If I'm not gaming or working??? I'll kick it with my peoples or my co workers. Hit a bar, grab drinks with a nice lady for the night. Hoop. Watch sports or anime. Listen to some music. Sometimes I'll link with some dudes and record some raps just cause nikkas wanna hear verses from me.

Just modern day 90's kid shyt

i like long walks on the beach, bubble baths with scented candles, smelling roses and cuddling up with a good book and coffee :troll:

seems like we all have the same hobbies and interests outside of work. i'm pretty simple:

i'm doing brazilian jiu jitsu with a little wrestling, boxing and starting to get into judo
hitting the weights
studying for certs and programming
making beats
researching technology, investing and companies (i love browsing kickstarter and occasionally investing in stuff)
reading books and magazines (wired and the new yorker)
going to concerts, local festivals, art shows (bay area has one about every week) or bars
watching sports, movies, tv shows, anime, wrestling and documentaries (a lot of espn 30 for 30)

writing was one of the subjects i fell in love with in college so i've been thinking of writing an op-ed on tech, sports, business, politics, economy, culture, world and etc. every sunday to get back into it :jbhmm: i don't know where to start with this or where i wanna take it so maybe that's why i'm dragging my feet with it. DJing is another thing i've been looking into as well.

Just curious :jbhmm:

Me: Record music, Draw, Record music videos (just started recently), go to the gun range, play basketball, full time student (taking online classes this time), read books (The Alchemist and The Counte of Monte Cristo are my favorites), go to church (at least twice a week), and a few other things but those are the first that come to mind outside of the obvious stuff like raise my kids and doing the family thing.

All those activities and gaming, plus still raise your kids? This guy needs to give some pointers to Chris Jericho. :wow:

Reading, listening to music, eating out, drinking some beers (usually craft stuff), watching sports, walking, going to cinema, travelling. concerts etc. I'm good with everything but I live in an expensive country and work 5 and a half days so I have limited time/money.

I dumpster dive at Gamestop for PS4 games.
Nah but seriously, I have time right now since I'm not working(job contract finished last month) so I've been pretty chill lately. Besides gaming(which I do mostly at night some days), I pretty much am probably reading and studying Japanese and taking care of daily errands. Nothing too extraordinary right now. I like this change of pace. That wake up 9-5 grind and then come home and repeat is wack as hell.

Be a grown man and don't make money, brehs. :pachaha:

Do you have enough money to afford Uncharted 4? :mjlol:
