Because Postmodern tendencies stem from Marxism, but instead of using economics and class struggle as their inference, they use identity politics.....more than often they push social causes which are most pertinent to them or will advance their ideas....On any university campus you can find morbidly obese white women who will contrast women's rights with civil rights for example... They believe in relativism yet they make absolute claims and reinforce the same stereotypes that they supposedly so outraged by. At the end of the day the same cacs who are playing mother gaia will settle down, assimilate with their peers and lean right like the rest of em. Some Star Trek fans are upset about the racial and gender diversity of the cast of the new Star Trek: Discovery series, the latest in the Star Trek franchise. The diverse cast of Star Trek: Discovery includes a black actress as the ship’s first officer and an Asian actress as the ship’s captain.

According to some fans, the producers are ruining Star Trek by pushing too hard for diversity and excluding white males in the leading roles. The fans accused the producers of promoting a “social justice warrior” plot to shove “political correctness,” “diversity” and “cultural Marxism” down fans’ throats.

Others took to Twitter to accuse the new series of “white genocide,” a conspiracy theory which claims that the liberal “globalist elite” have a plan to exterminate the white race.





The new series features black actress Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham and Chinese-Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou. The series’ action focuses on Sonequa’s First Officer Michael Burnham, supported by Yeoh’s Captain Philippa Georgiou.

The producers obviously intended to push the boundaries of diversity, but some are uncomfortable about the situation in which the white male cast members have been pushed aside while two “women of color” take charge.

The overall reaction to the new Star Trek trailer has been mixed. Some viewers accepted the race and gender diversity of the cast as a positive development. But HeatStreet insisted that forcing issues of political correctness, social justice or “diversity for diversity’s sake” into a series designed primarily to entertain, could lead to failure because it embraces “politics at the expense of creativity.”

“Star Trek has a long and storied history, and much of that history has developed into canon,” HeatStreet observed. “Discovery appears to upend some of that canon in order to rewrite Starfleet’s story in a way that updates it for a modern audience.”

But supporters of the diverse cast criticized the argument that the producers forced “diversity for diversity’s sake” into the show, saying that if the show is primarily for entertainment as critics say, then they have to explain why viewers who only want to be entertained cannot enjoy a series with colored and female leads as much as they enjoyed previous series that featured blue skinned aliens, pointy eared humanoids and white male characters.

Supporters of the diverse cast also noted that three of the five previous Star Trek series featured white males as leads. Only Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager featured a black male and a white woman as leads, respectively.

Supporters of the diverse cast also noted that Star Trek has a long history of promoting diversity through its cast. Even the original series had a diverse cast and featured an interracial kiss between William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols.

But white supremacist fans insisted that featuring non-white females as leads has “ruined Star Trek.” According to Daily Kos, many critics of the diverse caste accused the producers of risking a situation in which they alienate the core white male fan base while bowing to pressure from “social justice warriors.”

Many vowed not to watch the series.

Or if someone doesn't agree with this concept that there are more than two genders, or that ppl should be forced to use whatever "pronoun" they want to be called , or any other type of outrageous shyt that we are anti-lgbtqlmnop or whatever it is now.

Again, which isn't the case. Ppl have these outrageous demands and expectations and when ppl just don't by it they are labelled as some kind of bigot, and lumped in with the ACTUAL bigots out there.

It's weak and lazy, but it's easy to do, and it's also the reason why nothing can get done to help these issues because ppl would rather play victim, or play aggressor....on both sides of the argument.

White women in particular are the absolute worst when it comes to these matters. They are the most privileged group in the world but stay trying to be victims. But they are smart because they try to align their virtue signalling with minority groups and those groups now believe they have a real ally and will end over backwards trying to protect these non existing ideologies while losing their battles for real issues.

The people who talk about focusing on economics vs social justice never address how the racial wealth gap emerged. Why does a white high school dropout have an equal chance of getting employed as a black college graduate? Is that purely economic or social? Or research showing different callback rates on resumes' with black sounding names vs white ones, there was a similar experiment done on grad school call back rates using fictional resumes'. The fact that some people feel uncomfortable about privilege is not the point, not everyone has the ability to take advantage of opportunities that were tailor-made to suit them. Ivy League schools in the past reportedly used the "well-rounded candidate" strategy to keep out Jewish candidates who were outperforming WASP students, the fact that not every white kid could have made it does not invalidate that strategy.

I have seen Ferguson/BLM showing up here, it's another flashpoint because anything that exposes the white blue collar hero policeman is bad. I have come across many whites who seriously think the whole Ferguson stuff vindicates their police department.They won't touch the DOJ report that showed racist emails circulating within the PD, the department using the community as an ATM machine by levying frivolous fines and tickets, they even arrested a black man who was cooling off in his car in a park and accused him of being a paedophile because there were children in the park. For a group of people to have privilege it does not imply every member of that group is participating and lording it over everyone, a white guy must know that if they interview at a place with like 90% other white people they stand a good chance of getting that job.

People that use the line diversity for diversity's sake are racist anyway. I don't really care much about the race of a fictional character. The first officer is a black woman that's cool if she was a Hispanic male that would be fine too or a white male. Everything isn't a political statement or some grand statement.

Diversity for diversity's sake? Is there another sake diversity is supposed to be for other than its own?

People think because they support black athletes, or are friends with the Indian guy that owns the resteraunt down the street, dated a Chinese girl in college, or think MLK Jr was a hero, or love Bob Marley's music, that they are somehow immune to racism. However, there is a faction of the regressive left called SJWs that want to censor free speech, claim "cultural appropriation", and evangelically insist that there are more than two genders.
