Very hard to make an argument that a guard is DEFINITIVELY better than another guard, when your guy is shooting 31% from 3 in this day and age.

John Wall is not an impact defender.

There is literally no proof that he's a great leader.

But I watched Kyrie step up and push his team over the top for an NBA championship, against a team that at the time, was in consideration for the best ever.

I don't even think that one is especially better than the other, but I know there's enough evidence on both sides that this thread is trash as fukk.

Yes.

But here's the thing, I'm not going to clown anybody that believes Wall is better, for the fact that he has been the better performer this season, the fact that he's taken his game to new heights due to being healthy, and the fact that he is essentially in the same tier as Irving or thereabouts. However, you need to come with an argument that is impartial, weighs up their impact, role and skillset accurately and is reasonable - meaning that you recognize and acknowledge the opposing side's argument to be valid too.

Can't knock that,I just don't understand how people think Kyrie better,is it something I'm missing?

Kyrie has a ring, a top 10 finals moment (clutch game winning 3 shot against the so called goat bball team), all-star MVP, Roy, and constantly is called the hardest player in the league to guard by defenders that actually guard point guards(Avery Bradley).... I like wall a lot but history and facts allude to kyrie being the better more memorable Plyer at this point.

How? And Wall has led his teams to the playoffs multiple times? He's always at the top of the assist leader board and is a really good defender? That playoff run helped Kyrie, but I can't give him he better than Wall, when he playing with the best guy to possibly ever touch a ball man.

Wall is top 3 in advanced defense ratings for PG's,leads all point guards in blocks and steals and his defender only shoots 33% on him in Iso situations, the hell you mean he's not an impact defender??:dahell:

Wall is the better two way player and makes players better,I'll take him over kyrie.

He COULD but he is not. And i doubt he wouldve been able to keep this up for multiple seasons.

Hell he got outplayed by isiah in the playoffs, the same year.

There is a reason why they stopped putting him at pg. Even tho he had a GOAT status run

did you see this period for yourself?

If not, well,..... selagail.....

I thought it was obvious that most people would take the point guard who can pass better, defend better and still score at a way above average clip over the point guard who can just score better

Considering how heated this debate is, I guess I was wrong :manny:

One thing I will co-sign is what @Gil Scott-Heroin said about Kyrie's ability to play off ball. He works well with LeBron because of that, and I don't think Wall and Lebron would go right together.

Maybe it's because Kyrie isn't really a point guard, but mores so an undersized 2 :lupe:
