And to the cornballs who said good riddance. 5 Pointz was a part of hip-hop, and a huge part of the graffiti culture. You had well known artists from around the world to come & do work there. You should really do your homework & instead of posting nonsense trying to be different. As a native NYer, that was the best part of me having to go out to Queens. I'm glad I got some pics last time out, before this happened.

No rapper could save or hip-hop entrepreneur could have saved it. The owner did not want to sell it, and sold it when those big money developers came through. Again do some research on the matter.

And the owner is a dikk, plain & simple. The buildings were coming down at the end of the year, their was no need to paint over the art. That was done deliberately & was a big "fukk You!' to the opposition.

Old Graff gets painted over with new graff all the time..I'm sure 5 points isn't all original peaces..that place will be filled up with more graff in a few years so it doesn't even matter

this is ALL original pieces worldwide and you get permits to bomb. the building is 3 stories at its low point and 5 stories at its highpoints. literally the whole building is covered in original pieces.

we are talkin nas, jam master jay, krs-one, batman vs the joker, king kong squeezin subways, autobots vs decipticon war murals.

if you goggle the location you can see it is located next to an elevated train track which gives this place its regular viewing audience of about half a million a day. it also had two dead end streets on both sides so ther was a privacy to that area.

now those streets will become private even though they are technically public. once the building gets demolished nobody will be painting on that new multi-million dollar condo

because of its shady-feeling type of location of being located under the 7 train line, im sure they will put enough cameras to give the architects room in the matrix a run

Let's be reality here. The same people complaining about 5 Pointz being knocked down are the people who will be living in these luxury condos being built over it.

i support graf and all that, would ahve been dope to get a pic in front of the building but when dude said there was no permit for the lift to be used. did you all have a permit to bomb the building.

you needed permits to bomb. this wasnt a huge building that people illegally tagged on. all the murals they buffed were done legally.

they just wanted to show true power and make the protesters feel angry and defenseless.

NO. The owner wasn't selling. The artists tried to buy it, but he wasn't having that. Again do some homework.
