I agreed it wasn't better than carter 2. But who the hell was wayne in the 90s? I was there. He was the little kid from juvys video. Him and Turk was the young boys
What it did was give him some numbers. Know to keep pushing him cause he could be a star. And let him continue to put out albums.
We saw that video and thought ok. Wayne ain't no damn bow wow and he got a ok song out. He doing his numbers. and he followed it up and followed it up until got his classic... what it did was build a good foundation

nah not with The Chronic & Doggystyle...but its up there tho, deserves to be in the conversation. Every song 50 had from that album was a single.
with the exception of juvi, they were all young breh. BG, turk & wayne were all a year apart from each other. niccas just f*cked wit wayne the least. that doesn't make him into a baby. they just played up the young chit with him to compensate, it seems. plus, he was a draw for the children & females.
bow wow wasn't even out yet. and wayne was already a member of a "gangsta rap" group, which was already 2 albums deep.
I'm not tryna gas up TBIH. the underlying message is that I don't think highly of C2. theyre pretty much equals. 2 albums with crazy filler.

streets wouldn't have f*cked with it nearly as hard if biggie didn't die right before it dropped.
GRODT is nowhere near the greatest debut ever in hip-hop. NOWHERE NEAR!!!!!! not even a top 5 debut from queens.

C2 is hands down better than C1 to me. What songs did you consider filler? I feel like maybe you're more drawn to 1 because of Gillie's influence.
I'm not drawn to C1 either. gillie's "influence"(lol) is too blatant to me. it was too much to stomach.
but C2 is like child's play in comparison to C1. he had his moments, but overall, C2 was a CLEAR step down from C1.
I never cared to learn the tracklist from C2. but yea, a lot of tacky stuff on there. "I'm the fireman fire fiff fiff fireman".

2001 set the standard for how an album should sonically sound and opened the door for producers expanding their sound, gave Kanye and Just Blaze something to be inspired from, Scott Storch got a launching pad out of the album, Snoop solidified himself as a legend, EM became the new monster to be reckoned with after that album, Xzibit was put on the map, Dre was born again showing he will always be relevant at the snap of a finger

Carter 3...off the back of 2 classic albums in C1 & C2, and 3 straight classic mixtapes in Dedication 2, Drought 3 and the leaked C3 sessions ...it was a let down quality wise, but the impact steered the entire direction of hip hop since
Vol. 2 ...Hard Knock Life ...can't believe I'm the first to mention it...this is the album that MADE Jay-Z, was the dawn of the rocafella era, and pushed hov to tier 1 status...quality wise, it's somewhere in the bottom-middle of his catalog..but again, the impact literally altered hip hop history

like what???? You'd definitely have to explain that. Shortly after Life After Death in 97, hip-hop moved to the south to where it is today lol. Life after Death didn't influence shyt. Great album though.
