innovation is key to success in any business though. but what you're talking about is a making a product. i was talking about establishing infrastructure (opening up a head shop, dispensary or growing). that's like starting a small distillery or opening an underground bar right before prohibition ended (depending on where you live weeds already "legal" or not). but you are almost assured some profits at least for a while until big business catches up. if you're smart you either move on to another venture or find a niche in the local market. if you're really smart you become part of the big business, but thats enough free lessons for the coli entrepreneurs

if you're talking about growing legally i dont see this being practical.....unless you already have alot of growing experience, the necessary equipment, a clean background and the money to pay for everything that it will require to make your buisness legit (which wont be cheap)......

n1ggas aint got time for that. lol i think to make it in your own business, u just cant be the type of n1gga that likes to go out a lot. unless ur business requires u to be out all the time. thats the problem.

my boy asked me how to create a webpage. i spent a couple of hours with this n1gga. showed him the basics. he picked it up pretty quick and had a real website up in no time.

fast forward to a few weeks. i ask him what happened? why aren't u working on it anymore? he laughed to himself an said he'll get on it. a few weeks after that, i ask him again, same thing. i'll get on it. eventually dude just gave up on it. and thats primarily because he realized he needed to be working on it relentlessly for it to work. once u have the site up, u goto advertise it with articles. do this and that. that n1gga wasn't about that life. but he smokes weed regularly every day on time. lol. dude is a smart too. wish he had consistent ambitions

Can't detail anymore than that, but one will be launching this year. With the exception of one, all of them are serving growing or underserved demos. I've got a good bit of experience in 2 of them already.

If you are a minority, you should really consider looking up MBE certification if you start it. Companies are really trying hard to spend money on minorities that own companies in that space.

Its a pretty tough business though. If you establish good relationships you should be good. Same as any other company.

That's the industry I'm in now...thanks for the heads up. I know how tough it can be, but I've seen it from the vp down to hourly associate, and worked almost every role in between.

Stop focusing on someone else telling you what a good a business is. It is not that easy. There is money to be made from millions of different businesses. Flipping cars, houses, retail store, online stores, consulting, teaching, providing service. A great business doesn't have to be anything complicated or expensive. You have to make a dollar to get to a million.

Any business must cover the following to start :

* Does it fill a need ?
* do people want it ?
* Is there competition ? can you be better than the comp ?
* What are start up and operating costs ? this is where amazon,ebay,CL etc.. can help keep cost down and reach a wide consumer base. technology helps too Zoho CRM, Square, outsource to Asia
* what are profit margin ? you can use a site like Alibaba to buy stuff from China then sell it here.

Honestly, having you own biz is not easy, you have to have tuff skin, work ethic, perseverance,determination, drive, ambition, confidence. One of the best things that I did is read as many bizness books as possible. You will see a common theme with people that are successful.

Once you have an Idea do your self a favor and make a business plan. Just going thru the process will educate you and just by going thur the process you will see how determine you really are. I recommend this book

At the end of he day the key to real wealth in the USA is owning your own business. Once you start networking with other business owners you will have a different view of this country, and how things really work. Good luck.

u sound bitter as fukk, its very practical and the money in the weed industry is only growing. in cali with a med card u can already grow up to 6 plants. in the future when laws are more lax more can be grown. a small industrial building can be converted to a growery and you're half way there. banks will loan money if you come correct with a business plan. its really not that hard.

u sound bitter as fukk, its very practical and the money in the weed industry is only growing. in cali with a med card u can already grow up to 6 plants. in the future when laws are more lax more can be grown. a small industrial building can be converted to a growery and you're half way there. banks will loan money if you come correct with a business plan. its really not that hard.
