That part, I specifically used to spend extra there because they prominently featured Black-owned products.I got a baby so Target and Amazon have remained staples. But beyond tariffs and DEI, Target has made it incredibly hard/annoying to shop in-store with the amount of shyt locked up, and out here, taking away self checkout in many locations. I do order pickup which is great for me, because I no longer make impulse purchases - another thing lower sales for target. You’re supposed to go there for paper towels, laundry detergent, and sparkling water and walk out with that stuff plus 3 candles, a new workout outfit and water bottle, and some trail mix you didn’t need.
It’s not anecdotal. If you don’t think that they have lost foot traffic because of the boycotts and that it’s impacted business then you are being shortsighted. It’s not the sole factor but to think it’s had no impact after close to 8 months is silly.i don't think it is shortsighted.
Many of their regular shoppers did not walk away from the boycotts.
They were dropping customers year over year before the boycott.
You can't take annecdotal evidence of just yourself and try to think its national.
Target has been in decline for 4 years.
They can't sell as a mid - upper level brand, but have stores with the same detail as Walmart.
Ulta is leaving them, everyone is leaving a sinking ship
TJ max has better growth over the last 4 years.
Likely a combination. Amazingly stupid to alienate your primary demographic though. Middle class liberals.
Costco’s stock is booming. I assume they predict that alienating a vast swathe of your costumer base is not beneficial long term when very unlikely Trumpism lasts past his life.

Costco doubles down on DEI — and benefits
Despite boycott threats from conservatives, Costco reported that net sales for April were up 7% from last year.www.marketplace.org
Targets name may never recover.
You ignore 4 years of failure and decline and try to ascribe it to an issue in the last 6 months. It’s not anecdotal. If you don’t think that they have lost foot traffic because of the boycotts and that it’s impacted business then you are being shortsighted. It’s not the sole factor but to think it’s had no impact after close to 8 months is silly.
Yep square bizCombination of recession, unforced dei errors, and everyone being broke these days.
More and more people do their grocery shopping now on Amazon as well believe it or not.
It’s been especially great for people who don’t know how to select fresh items or want to go through the trouble. The Amazon grocer does that for them.
Amazon is siphoning major and small brick and mortar businesses more and more.
Anyone noticed this agent always in every thread trying to downplay black issues ?You ignore 4 years of failure and decline and try to ascribe it to an issue in the last 6 months.
This is a bigger deal than a boycott, which is why they let the CEO his contract wasn't renewed in March I believe.
I don’t like indefinite boycotts with no end goal. Offer an alternative? Cool. Until certain changes/goals within the company are made? I’m all for it.I agree with this but I will say this boycott Target shyt is just being amplified online. My local Target stores have plenty of black people as they normally do
Target was also at the Essence festival and black people were going there as usual
I’ll put my mortgage on the fact that the people who came up with this boycott are far removed from that reality. BLM 2.0… at least they aren’t begging for donations I guess. That's not feasible for a lot part of the country especially those that live in small towns and rural areas along with the elderly.
Walmart is still the main option for a lot of those people.
