Some of the questions could have been better. I mean Charlamagne isn't Ed Bradley but asking 3 or 4 "Is this c00nish?" questions was lame...even by his standards.

You do realize the groups you mentioned all have a "standard" to adhere to.

They speak their own language, they have their own currency, they have their own original names, they can choose to go back "home" if they wanted to.

They have a culture which is independent of American culture. Their own food, clothes, traditions.

What common trait do American blacks have other than the color of our skin and the nasty reminder of how we came here as slaves and had to fight our way to freedom. Which standard or culture must we all abide by or look towards for guidance on how to improve our community? Is it the black politicians way? Is it the successful athletes way? Is it the music industry way? Is it the restaurant business? Should we follow our church leaders or our mosque leaders? Do we produce crops? Do we have oil? Do we have land? Do we own anything?

We are completely disconnected from our roots and are struggling to find our place in a white mans land with white man rules. Its like we are cars going in all different directions with no stop or yield signs. In other words, total confusion.

Stop making excuses! There were self sustainable prominent neighborhoods during the midst of the Jim Crow/Civil Rights days. Unfortunately cacs either burned them down or did things to destroy them (building highways straight through them)

That's the POINT though, breh... that's what Tariq and others are trying to get y'all to see. We have commonality as Black people and we need to JOIN TOGETHER instead of constantly coming up with excuses about how we SHOULDN'T. Nobody is denying this is the situation/problem, we're all just trying to overcome and SOLVE it.
