I’ve lived in Dallas my whole life and they’ve been talking about this since the mid 90s

This train gets brought up once a year, every year.

It’s never going to happen
This is big facts I’m here in Oklahoma and they were talking about this when we at cowboy stadium in Irving back in 95 😳

It's a long distance with alot of variable land grades, not to mention the ground is super dry here now.

We're in a permanent drought.
City density isn't the same as Asia either. Like some else said, you get to the city and ain't got no car. You gonna catch a bus when you there?

Only makes sense in dense ass northeast or certain parts of Cali.

if they actually started it, texas would get it done a hell of a lot quicker than california :dead:

i wonder if there's a point where it's just good business. that's what, 5 major sports teams?

Yep, a big reason why HSR hasn't taken off in America is because the US is much more sparsely populated and spread out than many Asian and European countries.

Japan is a narrow, population-dense, and mountainous country. Those are the PRIMARY reasons why HSR works so well in Japan.

It will never happen. Republicans have made it clear they are against public transportation because it brings the 'undesirables' to their neighborhoods

This isn't just a republican thing....this is a class thing.

Plenty of left voting folks who get all :whoa: :hubie:when whoever they deem undesireable start making their way into their neighborhoods.

They need to really just quit with these mega projects, and work on practical rail systems and modernizing current ones in major cities.

Never happening.

They make too much in toll money for things like this.

Down the street from my house are old train tracks 120 miles away from nyc that used to go directly. A bus ticket today cost like 40 bucks one way rn here. Train would change that but they dont care cause of cars.
