I’ve lived in Dallas my whole life and they’ve been talking about this since the mid 90s

This train gets brought up once a year, every year.

It’s never going to happen
Don't be a hater. Bissonnet track here I come! :blessed:

I have doubts that the Transportation Department in Texas is up for this. In order for bullet trains to run smoothly, everything has to be A1. The conductors, maintenance, etc. And I don't think it can be done because Texas seems to have a reputation for cutting corners in some way.

High speed travel in Europe is international and there is nothing stopping you from doing it a piece at a time.

Yep, a big reason why HSR hasn't taken off in America is because the US is much more sparsely populated and spread out than many Asian and European countries.

Japan is a narrow, population-dense, and mountainous country. Those are the PRIMARY reasons why HSR works so well in Japan.
What's wilder, I can't speak on Japan, but in China it's not fully utilized and hemorrhages money because people don't utilize a lot of the routes.

The only way Texas does it....is if Cali, NYC etc., does it first.

Texas Republicans are arrogant but have a little inferiority complex. If the big coastal spots beat them at something, then the well monied good ol boys will want to fight back and win.

Until LA, NYC or DC get it done...we'll be sitting on our hands. It makes a lot of sense in Texas because you've got multiple big cities within the same state that are quite far apart but.......Republicans....so yeah

This isn't just a republican thing....this is a class thing.

Plenty of left voting folks who get all :whoa: :hubie:when whoever they deem undesireable start making their way into their neighborhoods.

They need to really just quit with these mega projects, and work on practical rail systems and modernizing current ones in major cities.
Ask yourself why public transportation is better in traditionally blue cities than red ones.
I do agree with you that rich people in general dont want certain people in their neighborhoods.

High speed rail like they have overseas would get you from NYC to Orlando in 4.5 hours. You could go to Disney for 3 day weekends.

You could date women from Atl after work on Fridays and be home for work in the morning on Monday no problem.

Lack of High speed rail is fukking the game up.

Gentlemen. This. THIS. Is how you be Christian. Listen to this breh.

I hope there are no street crossings anywhere in the vicinity or they have some sort of super secure way to prevent issues.

Brightline trains here go 80 in So Fl and seems like someone gets hit weekly trying to beat them :francis:

Japan been living in the future for 30 years already, America just now trying to hop on the bullet train wave. Theyre doing this for Florida too
Both of these States are terribly ran. Expect a state that can't keep the 💡 on and another where you can't get 🏠 insurance to build bullet trains brehs

Tracks would have to be elevated to keep animals from crossing and people commiting that. Traffic can go underneath.

This would be a major boost for the economy if it was actually done. Thousands of jobs across the country.
