I don't believe Yelich is going to have an MVP type season like last year.
Particularly if he repeats his 50%+ groundball rate.

But let's see.

I can say without hyperbole that Rafael Devers is without a doubt the worst everyday third baseman I’ve ever seen. He makes routine plays look like an adventure.

He was more of a utility infielder, than an everyday third baseman. Depending on the season he would get time at first, second, or third. You can’t compare him to a guy like Devers that is a true third baseman.

Devers’ fielding has always been inconsistent, but he’s seemingly somehow getting worse.

Yelich got out of Miami and turned into Barry Bonds.

Yelich had a 51.8% ground ball rate last year and for just about his entire time in Miami.

So far he has 37.7% ground ball rate in 2019.
That's a massive change.

If anyone doesnt understand that hitting the ball on the ground is a bad thing, they shouldn't be talking baseball in the first place.

The more shocking thing than everyone talking about Yelich though, is the early success Jason Heyward is having

Manfred doesn't respect the game of baseball. This is only going to get worse when there's no wind to keep a ball in play. The new balls are slicker with little to no grip hence pitchers having location issues. When you get to 3-2 or 3-1, you have to throw for a strike and open yourself up to a hit. Great to good pitchers have turned pedestrian this year. For example, Nola, Scherzer and deGrom all have ERAs over four. This is nuts.

I felt dirty taking him in fantasy but he was dominant to start the season. Now I'm utterly disgusted.
