For every 1 black person like you or me, there's 9 who haven't cracked a book since high school. Don't be so emotional. It's the truth.
I can only speak for myself but prior to stumbling on the what are you reading thread I hadn't picked up a book in like a decade. I've read more in the past 2 months than I had in my entire life prior. shyt is sad honestly.

:blessed: have over 10,000 books on my computer, ipad, and phone combined. Even have a 3 tier book shelf in my room filled with books.
I love to read. Lol thats all i could do when i waS younger cause we were not t allowed to go out. I had a nice paper and hard back book collection that got burned in a fire:mjcry:.
I love to read. Its more like 5 books in a week for me. Im tryna find some new genres to get into. Anybody got some good book recommendations?
I prefer fiction but will do non fiction too if it grabs my attention.

I enjoyed reading in my younger days but I'm mostly playing catchup with magazines, short digest. I picked up Bulletproof Diva by Lisa Jones and that may be the one book I've read all year whenever I finish it. :yeshrug:

Books were never really my thing, much more of a art/gallery person.

But one great thing about our current internet age is that for the most part, being able to read is a must to just navigate basic shyt. And forums like this have done a great job keeping my vocabulary skills on point.

My math might have went to shyt, but I can still spell mufukka :lolbron:

I enjoy reading. I go through spurts though. I'll read 3 books over a few weeks... then not read anything for 3 months. Rinse and repeat.

:yeshrug:

Im likw that too. I got tons of books in Cache. Im trying read at least 12 before the year is out.

Comics are books, I read more than 5 of those a year.

Or as they call them 'Graphic Novels'

I've read maybe 200 books in the past five years.... to be honest, though, I kinda got myself stuck in the acquiring information just to acquire it, and haven't spent as much time actually APPLYING the knowledge though, so I haven't read much the past few months but I've actually made more progress in life.

At the end of the day, life experience is much more valuable than reading. You'll get more out of traveling and meeting new people and putting yourself into uncomfortable situations than you can get out of any book. Now, don't get me wrong, reading is important (fundamental, lol) too, and the COMBINATION of the aforementioned will make you godly brehs.

End of the day though, doesn't really matter if you ain't stacking that bread.
