Women a little bit less on average than men. Those numbers have always seemed crazy to me. On a bad day where I don't do shyt I'm still taking 7000+ and that's a day where I barely did anything lol.

They make watches for that sort of thing now if you BELIEVE you walk that much. do you count your own steps? If you drive around or sit half the time, you probably walk less than you think.

And honestly, i would argue that its less for the average american.

I work from home and I rarely hit my daily FIT goal until I made the conscious effort to do so. (7500 steps I think)
Walking around the house and going to the store is not enough in my experience
Even when I didn’t WFH, I had to make efforts to take laps through the building, walk the stairwell or parking lot to hit 10k or go walk the lake (3.5 miles). i worked out in the morning back then, but it was strength so while I got exercise, it wasn’t “steps”

facts. nobody is hitting 10k in a desk/stationary job without making a serious effort to get steps in throughout the day. 4-5k seems high unless they are only talking about the youth
