:francis: This is 1 of the main reasons, I've always said that UH should've gotten into The Big 12 over TCU.

Yeah No big 12 school has the size on the lines osu did

They couldn't physically beat teams up up front and with the run game like osu did in the playoffs. Their usually the teams getting beat up
This isn't true. Baylor definitely has a big O-Line that you can win a national title with. If their top 2 QBs hadn't gone down with injuries they would've went undefeated & been more of a threat in the playoffs than OU was.

OU also had a big O-Line uppperclassmen in 2014, that was good enough to win a title with.

:mjlol: Yes. Outside of a few guys Baylor gets, their defensive recruiting is a Joke. But their offensive recruiting to go with their "Veer & Shoot" offense is National title-worthy.

A lot people were happy to see that Texas didn't hire Art Briles after Mack Brown was fired 2 years ago, because that would've had folks shook.

There was a point watching the game where I felt it was varsity sized men eventually overwhelming a gutsy and inspired JV squad. I don't get how OU could have a squad full of Trxas niqqas built like Lil NY niqqas. These SEC teams begin to overwhelm us. Shepard reminded me of my time at OU, being on the scout team and beating the breaks off niqqas into they started to grab my then 175 pound ass and started controlling me. Our midget WRS couldn't do shyt against y'all athletics corners. They were straight overpowered. Then our line play, the d-line lacked the depth to keep dudes off them. Same with the O-line. We just looked physically weaker. And Mayfield looked like a child trying to play qb. I felt as if I was watching Colt McCoy vs Bama.

And that the best the Big 12 had to offer?

Mannn....what happened to "Sooner Iron?" Big beefy ass niqqas with no necks? Corey Mayfield ass niqqas?
Corey-Mayfield.jpg

Goon ass Aubrey Beavers ass Houston niqqas who I saw kick a girl down a flight of stairs and start a brawl at the Waffle House?

How the fukk did we become a bunch of smurf ass niqqas?

:ohhh: I guess you don't follow OU's or Big 12 recruiting because OU doesn't heavily recruit the state of Texas like they used to.

A&M moving to SEC and opening the state of Texas to the SEC has hurt OU's recruiting in Texas. But even before A&M move to the SEC, OU had started recruiting out on the west coast more because they were losing a lot of recruiting battles to Mack Brown/UT in the late 2000's/Early 2010's.

I think we're all in agreement that the proliferation of the Mike Leach coaching tree and the associated Air Raid offense really took the Big12 away from the more conventional styles played by the rest of the country.

I also think it has hampered Texas' rebuilding efforts as QBs and WRs are looking to make a name at Air Raid schools and put up crazy stats instead of thinking about joining UTs ranks in a "normal" system.

The high flying style of play is a great equalizer though. Really gets the most out of the available talent.

I honestly don't know what the conference can do to be more competitive nationally given the talent levels and style of play.

Houston
If Texas takes Houston, that's a big problem for the SEC. Because it would cement the state's biggest recruiting spots as well as the rest of the state honestly as a Big 12 state. Right now, you can make an argument that Houston is an SEC city. DFW is a Big 12 city and they didn't even need TCU to stay a Big 12 city.

I've said before adding Houston is no threat to Texas and I'll even go further: adding Houston would probably benefit Texas. If everyone agrees that a longhorn program firing on all cylinders is best for the big 12 then they can hit 4 birds (aggy, tcu, tech, Baylor) with one stone.

You want to wipe out tech and relegate them to permanent cellar dwellers like they were in the past? Add Houston
Tired of seeing both tcu and Baylor contend? Add Houston
Want to cripple the hold of aggy and the sec in Houston? Add Houston

All of the current power 5 schools in Texas would love to get any recruit they want from any corner of the state ideally. On the other hand, ideally Houston doesn't even want to venture too far outside the beltway if possible. We want to dominate Houston and that's it. Everyone else can battle for kids in east tx, dfw, centex, etc. That doesn't hurt UT because they will always get theirs. Instead of several top Houston recruits trickling to Baylor, TCU, tech wouldn't you rather them go to one school instead of making several opponents better?

Houston in a power 5 threatens aggy more than UT (although to a much lesser extent than tech and the privates). Texas will always have Austin and centex as a base and will always be able to dip into Houston/Dallas. Aggy doesn't have Austin and instead leans on Houston. We're already hurting their recruiting from where we are now. Those that follow recruiting know Texas is about to close with fury. Even in our best season in 30 years Texas is going to get theirs despite finishing with 5 wins. We may have a couple kids Texas wants but we aren't exactly duking it out with them. Aggy can't say the same right now...

Great point Alabama stays in the Houston area. They hitting DFW up too. Ashawn Robinson would have been OU or Texas 10 years ago.
