It's an end-of-era feeling for the Lakers.

I hope this doesn't affect things for us Lakers fans.

This means the new owner could change the franchise forever, and by that I mean changing the logo, no more purple and gold, shyt, even change the name or relocate.

Like the previous era in Minneapolis.

This could also affect free agency. One of the attractive perspectives players had in wanting to come to LA was the history between the franchise and the Buss family.

I doubt Walter will do all that, he's kept the Dodgers tradition in tact pretty well.

By all accords, this is great news

Makes the Luka trade even worse. Nico Harris could have gotten whatever he wanted from them.

Jerry Jones son looking at this like
:sas2:

He's at an age where there's probably no way he sells, and I feel like NFL owners are less likely to sell than owners of other major sports franchises, especially if you have a premier team.

Once Stephen Jones is officially in charge, MAYBE he would sell, but I don't think Jerry would sell at his age right now. He'd probably rather win than make $15 billion or more right now.

They saw the $6.1 Billion the Celtics sold for and said “yeap time to cash out and do something else.” A lot of times when the old man goes and the fortune has to be split up(Jerry Buss had 7 children) some people don’t want their inheritance tied up to a business they’re not 100% involved with.
They also can’t financially support it. As far as I know does the Buss family make any money outside of owning the Lakers?

If not how will they be able to bankroll $200 million in salary a season plus the other business costs.

Dr buss rolling over... Unless they selling it to a group led by Magic, this has 2 be the biggest nepotism fumble ever

Jerry Jones prob like he aint never gonna let his kids fukk up dallaa.

Jerry is gonna try and write into his will that the Cowboys can never be sold. But after he dies, we'll see what Stephen does :sas2: Lowkey I think Jerry trust Charlotte way more than Stephen. Won't be surprised if there's a curveball in the will and Charlotte gets ownership of the team.

End of the Buss era, kind of sad but overall this is good news. The kids didn’t know what they were doing and all hate each other. If this new owner treats this team like he does the dodgers, they are in good hands

RIP to the Doc, he was a great man.

His kids aint it though, good riddance.
