Obviously the most underrated album for both of them, not from reviewers and such but from their own fans. It's not even that people don't rate it well it's that people don't/didn't really care. Although the video did what it did, even The Louvre just thanked them on their site after a record breaking year in museums ww of all times.

Other than that the interest was cold, even from myself. I played it twice or so but I only kept on playing Friends and Black Effect.
I think the problem is that it's good, but I'd rather hear a Beyonce album or a Jay-z album. Just like most people. I think the album lacked depth and interesting lyrics, it was just good, solid and safe pop music. Not what you want from either of them. It's hard to record interesting pop/rnb/rap-mash albums, it takes real time to develop good ideas. And they did this real quick.

The lightness of EiL is one of the biggest reasons why I enjoy it

They already gave us heavy, introspective albums with Lemonade and 4:44

And wouldn't say it was safe. I'd argue bey took some risks and did some experimenting with her vocals, rapping

Jay was sharp. The production was great. They spoke candidly on shyt they'd been dealing with other the last few years that made the news

It was melodic. Feel like music nowadays is sorely missing melody

I can see where you're coming from though

They cater to diff audiences so that hurt things as well

Friends is great but too long....

I'm thinking Heard About Us would've been the best choice...

they obviously didn't make this thinking about singles
Friends was a dope a song indeed :jbhmm:

Ape shyt sounded more current then both those songs though but Friends if not a first single should have probably been the second one from that album. I could hear that song on radio if it was shorter for sure and they should have did a video.
