Iunno if anybody posted the video from worldstar where Scarface was talking about this same exact issue a few weeks ago. Face said that Hip Hop is white now. Twenty years down the line, Hip Hop is gonna be like Rock Music. A musical art form pioneered by blacks that is completely dominated by white artists and fans. In the words of a different Scarface from the movie
Half Baked, "I don't know why... but I BELIEVE him."

The same thing happened with Rock 'N Roll. Black folk created that shyt, made it dope. White folks went to the other side of the tracks to soak game and then straight stole the shyt.
In 20 years, all of the classic Hip Hop records from the 80's and 90's will be out of print, forgotten and ghettoized outside of the black community. Just like how no one outside of the hood has an in-depth knowledge of old school R&B, Jazz, Funk or Disco.
I'm from the hood. Although the hood where I'm from was more diverse and integrated than the average hood in America, I do not believe that white people born and raised in Generic Suburbia, USA can truly relate to the struggle presented in Hip Hop.
Now, there are Hip Hop songs and artists everyone can relate to. That is the reason why white people love positive early 90's Hip Hop like Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Pharcyde etc. They rapped about things everyone could relate to like falling in love, lusting after bad broads, not getting the girl, getting bullied in school, losing a loved one and just having fun.
But in no way shape or form can white folks from the burbs relate to living in the hood where bodies are dropping every other week, niccas sell crack for a living and it ain't even safe to walk down the street.

Whites from the burbs listening to any type of hood rap is voyeurism, point blank.
I'm sorry, I'd rather hear other nationalities and races rap on TV on a mainstream level rather than whites. I'd much rather hear and see some Cambodians from East Oakland or some Samoans from Hunter's Point in Frisco on MTV spit about the struggle before I listen to some cracka from Seattle spitting Salvation army rhymes.

But that will NEVER happen.
