They never get kicked in the ass. Maybe that one yearly fluke loss against the Lakers but even then the Lakers were injured on that back to back
They get a bad loss every now and then, and they respond.

Cavs were in the bottom 20 during regular season but not bottom 25. Everyone knows about their struggles, they werent good.
Playoffs have been another story. They have the 3rd best DRtg this postseason and their offense has nearly completely made up the difference w Golden State in overall off/def net rtg
The off game is normal and it's not like they've eve had any competition to respond against their schedule was pretty lenient but they had a lot on the road. They've lost the least games over a 3 year span I don't see what responses they've had tbbhThey get a bad loss every now and then, and they respond.
It's clear regular season cavs are different from post season cavs so what way does it work?
That's not how it works.
Lol upset by facts again

well the best 3pt shooting team....against the best defense against the 3 pt shotSomewhere Charles Barkley is saying a jumpshooting team can't win a title.
People will say it's cause it's the East, but they were cashing out on contested threes as well.

Whether that may be true or not, you can't use DRTG/ORTG and NRTG in that manner. Sample size is far too small and both teams don't play the same competition. The main reason the Cavs have the third best DRTG, isn't because they've had the third best defense (or are the third best defensive team) in the playoffs. It's because almost all the other teams' DRTGs have been affected by playing against either the Cavs or the Warriors offenses, respectively. It's the reason why teams like the Jazz are ranked 10th out of 16 in the playoffs in DRTG, but were ranked 3rd out of 30 in the regular season. It's not because their defense lost their abilities or structure, it was because it was affected by playing the Warriors offense in 4 of their 11 Playoff games.Lol upset by facts again

last year the cavs were right behind the warriors in 3pt defense....Usually the defense wins out when it comes to that.
I know how the stats work. Cavs have obviously stepped up their game on both sides of the court and that's reflected in the stats as would be expected, small sample size or not. So yes, it certainly does "work that way", you're just looking for reasons to discount facts you don't like as per usual.Whether that may be true or not, you can't use DRTG/ORTG and NRTG in that manner. shyt the Raptors had the second best DRTG after the first round (100.7 against the Bucks, and were one of the best defensive teams in the RS), but then had a 118 DRTG in the Cavs series.
Judging by your post and many others, you quite obviously don't.I know how the stats work.
