Admittedly no, a lot of my post was observation but I might’ve read up on it in some books on neoliberalism.

That was the ingredient that really brought the shift. Enough people had to be convinced that the “Get the bag at all costs” mentality is valid. That’s why people are whorish brands instead of artists.
Neoliberalism is influenced by the Frankfurt School.
You'll be surprised what you find studying them.

@Hathaway i know 2 scales and their chords. What can I do while I learn more chords and scales? I’m very slow at reading sheet music. I want to learn shyt on my own but I don’t see good resources online
I can't read music either. Never learned. I play by ear. Honestly man, it depends on how bad you want to learn. I spent years learning from youtube videos. I'll post what I told another breh on here :

I consider myself an intermediate player. Far from an expert. I'm self taught from the school of Youtube. Hours upon hours learning from youtube teachers. I will always recommend gospel for those who want to truly learn piano because it incorporates all music: jazz, blues, r&b and even some classical aspects. Since my foundation is gospel, I can pick out and play just about any r&b song by ear because most r&b songs are just dumbed down versions of gospel musically. You learn to play gospel, and you can just about play anything.

I really think the death of lyricism can be attributed in large part to the reign of 50 Cent and the South takeover...how you wanna divvy up responsibility is up to you, lol, but I think that 1 2 combo back to back really got rapping rapping the fluck up outta here. Of course there are exceptions, I'm just speaking generally. Swag/Image has always been important in hip hop, since it's inception...it's just that now them things are like 95% of what makes you appealing to rap fans, shyt is gross...I don't care how cool you seem, if you dirt you still dirt, you aint THAT cool, lol, I aint checkin for no dirt.

individuals who crafted classic music put a lifetime into studying music & pulling inspiration from other great artist

this is the microwave era

notice the most common answer given to how long have you been making music is now oh i just started a year ago or some shyte about how they were just playing around & stumbled into it

you can hear what goes into the music

you can hear the artist inspirations

classic records came from artist who invested their entire life into their music

Real shyt. The legends from the 60's, 70's, 80's etc, were putting in WORK getting their shyt perfected. In the 60's, guys were leaving high school and meeting up on the block to sing doo-wop like the Temptations. The GAWD Smokey Robinson was a teenager learning to write songs, hooks for Motown. In the 70's & 80's, singers were being taught how to sing in churches. Hour upon hours of practice, refinement and mastery. Aretha, Whitney, Luther, etc. The greats were doing this shyt their entire lives before finding the spotlight.
