Unless your on the swat team or in the military you shouldnt be able to buy the bump stop or semi-automatic weapons period. And I know its about money but I would assume that most people buy handguns or rifles for personal use and hunting. Even after all the shootings I feel like more people would be running to buy hand guns,etc. I don't see how banning assault guns & bump stock would affect their business that much.

Maybe, if the entire country implemented these laws it would work? Who knows?

If stricter gun laws fail to stop mass shootings then we'll try something else but why shouldn't we at least try? The FBI, ATF, DEA, National Guard, state and local police aren't going to storm into your home and take all of your guns...that's not what gun control is about.

If you're law abiding and not mentally ill, you will be fine. I'm from NY, we have strict gun laws yet people still can own guns. Why can't this apply to all of America?

Do you know how being deemed mentally ill actually works? you can be law abiding and mentally ill, but never clinically diagnosed and still be able to purchase.

Putting that type of onus on people doesn't even work in everyday life.

NY is also where the Sullivan Act came from... it's not a good thing.

Yes but then who's to say that any random normal and sane person doesn't snap one day?

Based off of that we shouldn't sell guns at all (I'm not saying that at all...just making a point).

The point of gun control is to MINIMIZE/REDUCE mass shootings. We know that we can't stop every single one but at least we can REDUCE the frequency and the amount of devastation.
