The fastest-growing vegan demographic is African Americans. Wu-Tang and other artist paved the way.

I think you're missing the point..read that NYT article, vegan diets for babies are fine.

however, in order for young babies to get the key nutrients they need, vegans have to take extra steps to ensure the babies get them.

no doubt the nutrients found in most "traditional" baby foods on the market...

so let me reiterate: VEGAN DIETS FOR BABIES ARE FINE. but if you're gonna do it, make sure you're on top of it because if not, the baby could die.
I think parents of any child should ensure they're baby is well taken care of. The point i was making was that it wasn't due to a child being vegan that it died it was due to neglect and mistreatment. The headlines positioned it as vegan so that it implies that a vegan child is at huge risk and a parent has to jump through hoops of fire to nourish their child. That's all I'm saying. :yeshrug:

I put the curious and transitioning black folks onto this family. They dont eat the healthiest, but the food is delicious, appealing and still usually better than the average non vegan diet.

For anyone also looking for more Vegan focused meals/cooks with personality and interesting meals. I watch all her shyt and I'm not even Vegan or trying to be.

I should’ve put this in higher learning. Nikkas ain’t reading shyt.

It said the main reason blacks are going vegan is because we seen the health damage to our communities and parents.

The Wu-Tang and other artist influence is about their investments in spreading Veganism into the black community. It highlighted styles P and Jadakiss four juice bars and Jay Z investment in the black owned Partake foods. Hence the hip hop is leading.

The third part highlighted the history of rappers promoting veganism in earlier raps ( this is more like a history lesson) She highlighted KRS-One “beef” and dead Prez.
This is a good reason to change up our diets. Problem people always seem to have a tendency to over course correct. Vegan diets aren't very healthy either. it would be better to find a healthy middle ground instead of going from one extreme to another.

They create this elitist attitude towards anything a person eats. Not realizing that the food may not be accessible where they’re at, they’re culture or religion, health condition, living situation, etc

Hip hop acts may help in terms of the stores/restuarants they are involved in. But as for inspiring through song, thats minimal.

if anything social media, family deaths, and a toneshift in culture to some young ADOS or millenial ones, and a few other factors are more why there is an increase. In regards to inspiration on transitioning to veganism.

KRS, and WU tang are not inspiring nikkas my age or people in their late 20s like that with their music.

that's good black people are moving away from fast food and soul food (chitlins, cooking shyt with lard and fat) With that being said, I wish their was more discussion on just eating organic meat and vegetables and eating a balanced diet, instead of "canceling" out meat.
A vegan diet is a balanced diet.

Organic, grain free, farm raised, free range, etc meat isnt much different from regular meats. Processed meats being the absolute worst.

But eliminating or decreasing meat intake has greater benefits than switching to a "healthier" meat.

Some things I always think about are why vegans go out of their way to make food look like meat dishes? Also why are humans drinking cows milk in the first place? Calves stop drinking their mother's milk not too soon after they're born. I've seen how meat and fried food has impacted my family with problems. Eventually I probably will go a Mediterranean or plant based route.
Because most vegans grew up eating meat and all the recipes they know include animal products. Buddha bowls are nice but sometimes I want to taste some bbq and mac n cheeze but I still want the health benefits of a vegan/plantbased diet

Is it not possible to enjoy those things in moderation as opposed to the replacement?
