Honestly, Chilla is the only person in battlrap that I think has dumbed down his material. The rest of these dudes rap like they have always rapped... the material just isn't good.

I wasnt crazy about his bars for Pass. Maybe it is just bad material but it coincidentally started after he started getting big stage battles thats what makes me think that its the big stage. Chilla clearly did it after the DNA battle. Big T I feel like after the Ored/Magic battles he simplified his shyt this nikka doing gun sounds every two seconds now, his long setups werent working on a big stage

You didn't really comprehend what I was saying, because you got the Clips shyt all wrong.

In the Clips/Top thread, your where wondering why all these url battles are looking like garbage on cam. I responded & said the battle rappers are trying to be as basic as possible to please a large crowd. I proceeded to use Clips as an example of a basic bar the crowd went crazy for. I never implied Clips was a super lyrical battle rapper at one point. This is where you got it fukked up. I used that bar as an example to illustrate what the crowd is trying to hear. You took it as I'm saying Clips is a lyrical nygga. Now do I feel Clips has more lyrical ability than he shows? Possibly but that's irrelevant, because that is not what he is trying to go for.

Speaking of Clips, the fact that he's so basic is the reason his battles don't have any kind of replay value.

Being basic looks bad on cam, therefore leagues like SDH, RBE, etc will continue to release better battles because these rappers aren't trying to please hundreds of people.

It's no different from an underground rapper trying to go mainstream. They dumb down their approach, because the casual person isn't trying to think. It's all the same shyt.

I never listened to Bmagic's bars for Pass, but you have to remember that was for KOTD. The URL is different.

Are you forgetting the fact that MAgic takes a ton of battles tho?. Big T went from battling once a year to also accepting a bunch of battles in a short period of time. You think that didn't have an affect on their pen game?
Like I said, Chilla is the only dude who I think dumbed his bars down.

It kind of amazes me some people really don't believe battle rappers don't factor in the size of the room, the location of where they are battling, the platform they are battling on, when creating material. This nygga Big T was on angryfan & even took it further than that. He talked about knowing what time your battle is & what the crowd is more receptive to around that time of the night.

Yeah magic always had hit or miss lines since he started. He didn't dumb down anything. When your style is back to back punches, a lot of them are gonna be average. It's almost impossible to come up with 9 minutes worth of A+ punchlines.
