When I first started watching that abysmal Keith Murray-Fredro battle I thought the ref was Sadat X. Kinda looked like an extra from the KMD Peach Fuzz video after a while.

The ref was a "toy boy eating butterfingers, with knowledge of self, and coloring books on his shelf".
He was definitely getting treated like a Toy's R Us kid.

Bruh, if this battle was back in the day with no camera, they might remember it today like, "That battle was heated son. Back and forth. Fredro flipped Murray's album, then Murray reflipped it on Fredro! Fire! Dat shyt classic! Dat real hip hop shyt!"

EXACTLY bruh

this shyt got me questioning all of these so called classic battles back in the day

im lookin at Jayz/DMX and Jay/Big L specifically

After listening to/watching the Freeway/Cass tape all the way back in the day, I got to a point where I only respect the "classic old school battles" because they were a sort of starting point. I recall Jay-Z apparently dropped a 6 minute verse or something on someone and showed out (was it DMX?), but it still strikes me as probably a mixtape verse and probably boring from a battle standpoint. Ghostface supposedly had one with Cappadonna where he shut shyt down. Still sounds boring. Even as a kid listening to on beat battle rap, I found myself rarely interested (Juice vs Supernatural is the exception).

I know it sounds like I'm saying "battling has evolved so now everything we used to like was wack," but truth is, I got off battlerap because I thought it was non-personal and forced and kind of corny. We had nikkas in my god damn school parking lot with stronger personals.

WHoever said Chilla could stand with Sug early in the night is a genius. It's simple but we all know that crowds WANT to hear certain styles early, and will literally cheer for the dude before he spits. Chilla early will have nikkas hungry for the bars (not high, tired and faded). Sug is a good early battler too, but he's also that "jolt" that nigs like to see a little later too.

I still haven't watched Fredro battle. Overseas and not a lot of TBZ time. Should I still peep it or has the aura faded?

1. Shoving refs for no actual reason
2. "dildo under your pillow" bars in 2000-anything :staredoc:
3. Fredro pushing the refs in the back for no reason after ending his round :staredoc:
4. Mook patronizing them like they are children who "got up there and gave it a go" :staredoc:

Bruh when Fredro ended his round and they gave the mic to Keith

then 3 seconds later Fredro makes the :stopitslime: face and tries to grab the mic but can't cuz Keith got the dusthead grip strength on that shyt :hovlaff: that moment is so fukkin funny to me

Rex's 1st against Top was fire. He knew he had to do that though after the Myers battle. He still half assed it, his 2nd and 3rd weren't half as good.
