O-Red is not better than Daylyt....can't be serious. Daylyt not doing himself any favours recently so can see why he's being trashed on here.
I had to come to terms with this early about Day -- He's not really a battle rapper. He's a writer (sometimes) and a jokester always. His actual battlerap ability is nothing worth talking about. His attacks are 75% indirect. He's had like 2 battles recently where he went after his opponent for a full round, and it helps, but it's still shrouded by him talking about himself or forcing nerd references and disney shyt.
Red goes after his opponent (like a battlerapper) and keeps his punches a little better than simple. You don't have to work hard for his shyt... just sometimes his voice is grating when he goes high pitched. If Day doesn't do something outside of rapping, this can end up looking a lot like Day's 1 rounder against Quest McCody (quest attacked Day for 5 minutes straight and Day made like 3-4 minutes of jokes, 1 minute of personals,1 minute of straight spitting).O red on his shyt is alot better than daylyt, idk what yall are talkin about. Better delivery, more aggression. He'll bark on day. Not that it matters tho, Day not gon take it serious. nikka might show up as a female on her period.
We're talking technical skill here. Wordplay. Punchlines. Schemes. Stuff like that. Red isn't better than Lyt period, in the categories (or whatever the shyt you want to call the shyts), I mentioned. IDK MAYBE punchlines. MAYB
EDIT : Red has better nameflips. Only because Day RARELY ever does them.
I think you're cherry picking Day's peak ability. He can show out in those categories, but his whole portfolio suggests he can't do it consistently, even when he takes shyt serious. Think about his Clips battle.. He took that serious, had a lot more personals etc, but still had a TON of non-battle filler and cornism (corny shyt). His Verb battle, he spent his whole first rapping about Total Slaughter (the verse was dope but it was not exactly helpful in making the classic people, including Verb, expected). His biggest bar at Blackout was fukking "I'm a little teapot."
To all the people piling on Daylyt here, what ya'll are saying: completely understandable and I respect it.
One little thing: Think back to all the people Daylyt used antics against. ALL OF EM'
One Question: Do you give a damn about the people he used antics against?
Not trying to make excuses for him, but he showed up against the people hes SUPPOSED to show up against
Chilla, Clips, Magic, Solomon, Ooops, Rich Dolarz, KG, Danja, Arsenal, Calicoe and others
Who gives a shyt about the nikkas he used antics against. Do you guys even watch the guy he got naked against or took a shyt on stage against?
It makes him unprofessional, but shouldn't take away from his performances against guys who make battles competetive, not backwoods billy or kickback kyle in leagues you dont even mention here
You sound like a late 2014 Clips fan. Day antic'd out of the KOTD chain bout, which would have built his so-called legacy all at once. Day was horse shyt against Danja. He just did nothing against QP.. He spends inordinate amounts of time in his rounds not even actually rapping..
Day, like every god damn one else, should not, will not, and does not get a pass for being prepared and professional 30% of the time. You take the battle, you get judged for your performance, and when >75% of your battles are complete and utter letdowns, you're trash status with occasional bright spot.
:2thumbs:
who yall think is part of this December card with Mook/Surf? I think Lux/Verb might go down
ahh thats wack

@ the thought of Red wasting bars against that clown.
