I wonder if Chess v Dougy was Dougy's apex. Dougy v Gwitty was after that battle, and Dougy's lack of creativity was more apparent going against Gwitty. You'd think he'd be improving at that point, but Dougy was very polished early on, maybe that's what really got him to this point.
I'm going to start referencing the "Too NY" thing that @horse. kills said, because it really is a thing. Dougy, Snakeyez, Moneybagz, Showoff.... they might not ever get past a certain point, because they remind people of what they DON'T like about NY'ers.
money bagz is particularly held back by this because he comes off like a white dude overcompensating for whiteness to people who dont know that he's got a long history with certified guys. and it's wild uncomfortable for a white dude to be saying RNS regardless of who he is or how long he's been with team homi. can you imagine the B Dot battle :heh:

dougy and snake eyez are too NY in the sense that they look like they've been created via template, they're not awful, just boilerplate, and if they were from Cleveland we wouldn't know who they were. but out of all those guys, mr wavy personifies the "too NY" thing. bad rapper, overmatching his clothes looking like an idiot on stage but somehow his confidence is through the roof, uncreative ny slang-based name, and somehow we see him battle known guys every year.

He's cornball and mad biased.

He just got into battlerap so he doesn't have any real battlerap knowledge neither.

He's a fan that just wants to be down with the DMV/Goonies movement.
So he dikkrides them in every blog/ interview / Champion episode there is.

To the point where he said he was a part of The Goonies on AFR

Only for the Goonies to litteraly friendzone the nikka the next day

He's so biased it pisses everybody off.

The fact he's a cornball doesn't help neither.
On some Nas shyt, "Just look at his face"

The shyt would be just as awkward as them going from enemies with lightweight street beef after their 1st battle, to them looking like they've been splitting E pills in all of the Lions Den footage, to seeing them battling each other for the 2nd time on Total Slaughter.

Long story short, it would be weird, but they would find a way to pull it off. I think they've studied each other more than enough to make it work.
I think they'd body whoever they battled.

It's so funny watching the Twork shyt on Champion, but not just him, but multiple young battle rappers I've seen, they love Prez Mafia. He's like the Surf for the young, young battle rappers.

I always thought Prez was fire. Prez and Steams are probably the two most influential battlers of the 2014-on era.

True

If you break down the Battlerap Tree, it goes

Mook & Lux

Conceited & Surf

Chilla & B Magic

Prez & Steams

They all have their own unique style, it makes sense

All facts.

It's so funny remember when Math during the Iron battle was doing his best Lux/Serius impression. He moved around just like them.

lmao Math's eyes were bulging out of his head too just like Lux lol Lux's mannerism has always been infectious though. Even now battlers are now like "Look at me king!" "Beloved" and of course "You gon get this work"

Nitty still doesn't know how to use angles yet. JC will wash him.

Act like JC didn't just lose to Bigg K.

What angle will JC use against Nitty? He can't pull that, "I'm who they came to see" stuff. JC still hasn't proven he can beat anyone who's not a tier under him. Once you take away his ability to talk down to you he's beatable. There's no angle he can use against Rum.

Rum doesn't need an angle. All he'll do is take everything that people clown JC for and say it more creatively. Rum will punch him to death.

Facts though.

I've been in this battle rap shyt since them old Smack DVD's and I noticed it's us old heads that looked sideways at new (at the time) nikkas like Prez, but I always thought that nikka was fire.

He's the blueprint to a lot of these nikkas on the come up.
