We not doing that

It amazes me how people on this forum misinterpret what is being said. He didn't say Smack HAD to check in. He clearly said that when Smack came down, he came straight to the hood and CHOSE to network, something that KOTD won't do. In all fairness to KOTD, they are not a street league, therefore Diz shouldn't have any expectations from them to put street battlers on.

However, although Diz is an emotional guy, but I'm not quite sure you can dismiss what is being said. He said it was an accumulation of things with KOTD, but Aktive not being able to battle was the breaking point. Diz played a huge part in getting Oxxxy to battle. He said Diz vs Oxxxy was locked in, and he GAVE it to KOTD. If there was an agreement for Aktive to battle and KOTD didn't fulfill their end, doesn't Diz have a valid argument?

Nah Diz gotta point. If he had a huge role in it and KOTD hasn't held up their end of the bargain on some things, then I can see how Diz could be pissed. Aside from Aktive, I don't like how KOTD handled their situation with Thesaurus. I know I know, Thesaurus is yada yada but he is still a vet and KOTD was wrong for that situation as well. One thing you can say is that Diz is ride or die for his folks tho. I give him that.

That last part, yes. That would be dope and I'd love to see them combine forces to see what they come up with.

Again, I can give you all that the talent can be shaky. You gotta pick and choose thru the talent and see who you wanna fukk with. And it depends on what you rock with. Street style battle rap I will like but for me, I came up hearing that but also that off the top/backpacker shyt too. So maybe KOTD caters to my taste in that more than SMACK URL does. I dunno. Good comments everyone. I can respect your views.

I came up watching both Smack and Grindtime so I would like to believe that I'm fairly balanced. I don't even think there's a clear distinction between street battle rap and backpacker rap anymore. Plenty of the top names in battle rap right now could battle on both platforms quite easily without having to change their content up. The WGH wave that affected URL for the past 2 years is pretty much a blend of nerdy rappers that just so happened to grow up in the inner city.

On the topic of quality control, KOTD did themselves no favours with having Caustic/Arcane on their last event. I don't care about the history behind it, it was a horrible battle. URL are known for having their fair share of duds but I don't think they would have put the "street equivalent" of that battle on NOME.

Me and you came up on this shyt the same. Hell, I used have at least two Smack DVDs but I used to fukk with shyt like Scribble Jam. So you get where I'm coming from with this shyt. My nikka. Yeah, that WGH point is valid. It's like URL just put their arm around that league and basically said, we got you but you gotta do something for us.

Yeah that Caustic/Arcane battle should have happened right after the whole shyt popped off. A grudge match that basically at this point, people stopped caring about. It was interesting at first and funny because Arcane was on a streak and only very few people beat him. But KOTD dropped the ball on the timing of that battle.

I have to think there was at least an attempt to set up Arcane vs Caustic over the years and it just couldn't happen. Then it went cold

Better late than never in my opinion

Like even though it's less relevant now I'd still wanna see Math vs Mook

Yeah it's just bad as match ups that don't make any sense. Match ups that go flat after a certain period of time. That Arcane/Caustic shyt was damn near in a different era. They should have just rescheduled Caustic vs Bonnie Godiva instead.

Breh no it's not. I get what you're saying but it's not just as bad.

Caustic vs T Rex didn't make any sense.

You're telling me you preferred that over a battle where the two dudes had history and legit tension and went for each others throat?

Let me clarify. They are two separate situations. I actually prefer history behind a battle. Even something simple as some shyt talk or whatever. But the timing of it is important. Like Arcane hasn't been good at all since the whole shyt went down. Caustic at least had some momentum and I honestly thought it would be funny to see both Bonnie and him try to expose dirt on each other. But ok, random battles are worse with nothing behind it. Like even the fans wanting it or a league seeing what a rookie can do gives us some perspective.

Yeah Rex vs. Caustic was random and supposedly Rex's last battle. A grab bag battle for Rex and a roasting session for Caustic.
