See, Danny is that nikka but so many people try to take an angle on him. The 12k thing, I understand but he obviously isn't hurting from it and 3-0'd Rex in the actual battle. He has done some things as far as his persona goes that has made him not so favorable. But no one has 3-0'd him. Clear 2-1? yeah, and there aren't that many of them given his record. I think its partially excuses now. The 12k thing got old so now people move on to how he writes and his delivery. I can't believe nikkas who like gun bars and all this drug talk cry about a nikka who yells in their battle verses. Its like, do you think when that shyt happens in real life they're always whispering and using their "inside voice"? LMAO. Clown shyt. His writing can be debated but I'd he is about 85%-90% on with his shyt. Swave is one of my fav. but I couldn't agree with him about how bad he thinks Danny writes.

agreed, his persona does play a role in why a lot of people don't like him. Same with Serius Jones. I'm not a big fan of Danny's writing or style but he's like DNA and Young Kannon (though I actually like Kannon) in that they're really hard to beat. Danny's issue too is that, he's been on URL, in NY, twice and both times he looked underwhelming. He beat Rex but it was more Rex being bad than anything and he lost to Steams, who I think is better than most people, but he's still an under card guy on URL.

Serius Jones is whole other category. He used to be one of my favorites until he started trippin' for real. And some of his music was blah to me (especially the autotune trend he is trying to follow)/. But he has bars and delivery. Now back to Danny...I thought he held his own in NY both times. But we as fans are so nitpicky about what we want out of battle rap, the bad on Danny's end gets looked at. His Steams battle, I call that shyt more debatable than a clear win for Steams 2-1. Two things: (1) Danny was sort of right to me about the WeGoHardTV (we gas hard) thing and (2) he did some shyt that got slept on in the battle with rebuttals (one was aight but the other one was fiyah). In the end, I do think fans just follow trend and give Danny shyt even though he has the best outlook on battling, never ducked, consistently shows up, and shows some ambition to do something good for battle rap.

The funny thing is, Danny Meyers has a hardcore fanbase online though. Go to the youtube comments of battles and they love that nikka. I think the hate he gets isn't as wide spread as it's perceived. I think he gets more hate in blogs and maybe radio shows than actual fans. He's got a very love or hate style

And I like Steams, but someone that's suppose to be of Danny's caliber shouldn't be having debatables with bottom URL talent. He's on record calling out Brizz and T-Top. And I was underwhelmed by his performance that battle.

I feel like even if he beats K-Shine on Saturday, the people that don't like him still won't respect it because it's on the West Coast. In order for Danny to get the respect of the blogger/messageboard type of fans, he's gonna have to go on a URL streak in NY.

I feel like battle rap on the West will never get full respect. Even Posey who usually goes to the West Coast events says the atmosphere doesn't feel like real battle rap. He said the fans are mad laid back, and battle rap, at least to street nikkas, just isn't a big deal out here. And I live on the West for the last 3 years and I can tell you, I just don't think they URL West will ever get full attention here. I hope I'm wrong because there's a lot of dope battlers out here but I just think you'll never be able to replicate the feel of a NY crowd on URL.

People don't care about the truth if the LIE is more entertaining. Especially in Battlerap where fire intricate bars get slept on and called filler by new fans while Urn N Ash and DNANNY gets wild crowdreaction "So it was fire cause it landed"

I understand what your saying, but just painting the picture of the current era

The era where nikkas like Daylyt and Clips only have to show up twice and be "back"

While Danny has NEVER disrespected a platform and always gave his best effort but is belittled to "who watched it, it was on THAT platform.." by these new fans.

It's not the same era like back then my nikka, it ain't sad to say..

I think people like joking about his missteps, but generally respect his talent. I guess he's kinda like a DNA where people feel like he has a goofy demeanor, but acknowledge that he shows up with 3 rounds consistently and aren't ever really surprised when he wins.
