I gotta side with Tech on this issue. Winning clearly in battles where your opponent didn’t show up/was shyt does less for your career than having classic debatables. Key example being Surf. He’s lost most of his battles yet he’s see as URL’s top dog.
shyt the key example is O Red

He's gone on multiple winning streaks that ultimately lead nowhere

what would yall call the current era of battlerap? It seems like the bag era isn't a thing anymore, so where are we at now?

I don't have a cool name for it, but the stigma attached to battle rap is disappearing fast. I think the masses are beginning to accepting battle rap as a legitimate entertainment medium.

That's not entirely true. Winning streaks lead to the "big battle".

O-Red went on a run and ended up getting Big T on SM3 & Hitman Holla on High Stakes. Huge looks, and he dropped the ball on BOTH.

I think this current run is going to get him another big battle on the next big UDUBB card.

That's crazy, if Iron took Lux we never would've gotten that legendary 3rd from beloved.

Mook might not have battled at SM, which means no Mook talking about getting 20k, so the bag era might've been held off for a few more years.

There are a couple people on that SM2 card that were given a choice of opponents, so I don't look at this like it's something special to attach to Iron's name. Lux could have taken DNA. I think URL got the guys they wanted, then they made the match-ups.
