To be fair URL was beasting all 2017 with like 15 events or something crazy.
They arent leaving much room for other leagues...



KotD might wanna start pitching some joint ventures, though I don't see any reason for Smack to do one.

On the RYD videos, Illmac’s even hinted that he’s gonna be exploring NY battles more. Avocado talks about working with URL more too so I think they’re not with KOTD as much as they were before.

I don’t have to really follow the situation to see that their is some friction between the fresh coast and KOTD.

But he will do spots on Sportscenter or cover news that just broke on his radio show, both entities of ESPN his employer. If Vada was doing after battle reviews on a Champion YouTube channel you’d be right...

I think this year could be a make or break year for KOTD. If URL’s expansion into the West Coast progresses, then KOTD’s talent pool will get significantly smaller and their cards will look more and more dry as time goes on.

No they don’t. I believe his radio show was an ESPN show. If not, he was there as ESPN’s Stephen A Smith. Hd always says on his twitter shyt like “we’ll discuss it on first take tomorrow.”


They also don’t have their own separate channels where they talk sports outside of ESPN or FS1. Even Bomani Jones has a personal podcast where he refuses to talk anything sports related because he knows how unprofessional that would be.

Caps said something interesting on his show last night, and it made me really think about the comparison being made here.

Is there proof that Vada was being compensated for his appearances on Champion? We shouldn't make these types of comparisons if that's not the case.

Caps put it out there that he pays his co-hosts, and he made it seem like a lot of other platforms DO NOT.

There's a lot of ways Vada fukked up, but this angle isn't valid if he wasn't being paid. Was JayBlac's campaign to get people to subscribe to his channel his way of compensating Vada? Even if that's the case, how can Vada capitalize off those new subscribers if he can't talk about ANYTHING?

If Swave lose on that KOTD Card,he need to let somebody else run the "RestoreOrder" Campaign.

I know he is respected but you can't talk all this shyt and lose.

And personally I'm tired of hearing him talk. He ain't been the same since Verb smoked him.

No shot at you in particular, but we have enough information to know that KOTD & SMACK have been in serious competition for awhile now. Queenzflip says it started with the Gjonaj thing, and it's been on from there.
Hopefully people will stop suggesting that both leagues work together now.

KOTD would have to partner up with RBE or someone like that. But battlers say RBE does great business, so it wouldn't make sense for them to work with guys that hven't been properly compensating their top talent.

KOTD will be able to finagle another bag and stay afloat. But the perception of the company won't be what it was.

That’s not the point. And nobody knocked Vada for doing what he did. I think Blac was referring to why they had to cater to Tech and not Vada. If I’m a start up, and I’m trying to monetize Champion, getting my feet off the ground, i can’t have you come on and regurgitate something you already got paid for saying and then expect to get paid as well. Why would YouTube pay Blac for a video where Vada is the main person talking, giving the same information YouTube paid him when he gave it 2 weeks ago? Vada wants to build his brand, thats perfectly fine, but if it’s in direct conflict to Champions brand, than he has to take a more back seat role on Champion.

That’s why i think it stems from him being reduced a bit on Champion. It sounds like he got jealous that Tech’s schedule was being catered to and not his and i think that’s why Blac made a point to talk about him reviewing battles on his own channel.

How was he upset? He never shytted on jayblac or tech 9 in the comments. He would shyt on the other guest though, as a way to prop himself up. Considering he lives 2 hours a way from Jayblac, I doubt he even wanted to be on every episode.

Of course Vada wasn’t being paid.

Watch Tech 9’s interview on 15ofe after Smack vol.1. He flat out said they don’t get paid and it isn’t about that. It’s about the bigger picture.

Also, they are well aware of how much jayblac invested to even start Champion.

What do you mean not talk about anything? The majority of the guys content is reporting on an Instagram or twitter post. All they have to do is get together and be like “this is what we gone cover on Champion, i can cover this on my channel.” I seen some of his videos. He covers plenty of shyt that is not even Champion quality.

He can also revisit a topic and say one thing I didn’t get to mention on Champion due to time constraints was....”

There isn’t really another side. Dude is a social climber and all about himself.

Being on Champion got him subscribers and dude started popping up hosting numerous battles.

Nah. Thesaurus & Illmac have so many little b*stards running around up and down the West Coast, that style will never die, KOTD/GT type battlers they are dime a dozen in the Bay area. Just like Philly will never ever run out of street battlers who sound like they rhyming to a beat.
