Those guys aren't as interested in holding the scene up anymore, so it actually may be worse now.

That was more of a play on Okwerdz battle vs Arsonal, then a proper answer, tbh.

Caustic & Quantum became bigger names after GT died, obviously not as THE GUYs to take over from Illmac, TheSaurus & Diz.

But finding new talent and having them sustain their skills as they move up, isnt just a West thing. As we've all seen brehs will all the skills in the world, shyt the bed when theyve come up against vets/gatekeepers or the top tier guys. Majority of biggest names are stll the guys who rapped in Fight Klub, Jump Off, Street Status, Lionz Den, Smack DVD era over 9 -10 years ago, before GT/KOTD/URL. The only ones who dont have ties to those leagues are the likes of Con, DNA & Surf. Apart from T Top which of these newer guys are pulling in a regular mill battle

I was big on both Smack DVD and GT and I remember specifically people like Daylyt, QP and Fresco getting clowned on GT for having gun bars. I agree with you, I’m a fan of rap in general so as long as people are good, then I’ve got time to listen to them. However, I do feel like GT/KOTD/Fresh Coast spent a long time pushing a narrative that was intentionally divisive.

You know whats funny, I bring up the fact I kept up with SMACK URL on here and since I will take up for KOTD, depending on who it is, I get shyt for it like I didn't have my reasons. I really only liked KOTD because the talent from GT I liked added to their shyt. And at the same time, the visuals and presentation got tighter. But yeah, the shyt did get divisive but its on the fans, too. Sometimes, we as fans like to speak for other fans a bit too much and not realize the scoop of the battle rap shyt is now. We know what's at the top of the food chain of this shyt but, we also know that the market has expanded so much we don't bother to see its in different languages, countries, and etc. now.
