300 murders a year
even if i felt surf won, i would just keep it to myself

you really look crazy as hell going hard on facebook for hours trying argue surf won after he literally disrespected battle rap and gave up an entire round.

i remember back in the day people used to hand x factor losses for just slipping on words in 1 round. now we got fans who ignore totally jerking a entire round and try to argue the other 2 smh.

It really just comes down to if people like the battler or not. The biggest body in history was from a cat who choked a minute into his first. :yeshrug:
Bad comparison. That piece of a first was amazing, and better than the whole 1st his opponent had. The 2nd and 3rd weren't close, and the 3rd is possibly the most devastating verse in battle rap history. Only 2-1 bodybag ever.

I can't even lie, I had Lux winning with amazing material against Cal. And I will say its when I wasn't counting chokes like I do now; around then, I can admit I was still adjusting to the newer era of battle rap though I was keeping up with a lot of it. Technically, minus material, Cal should be the winner by looking at it as far as choking goes. And as a fan, its hypocritical as fukk to do. Hell, we could say the same thing for old battles like PoRich vs. Soul Khan or even...well, I can't think of too many battles where the person who choke a majority has winning.

And it is important to note that years after that battle, there still aren't rules in place to regulate choking like that. No docking pay. No penalties. Nothing. Matter of fact, along with chokes...no shows, no respecting time limits, and other shyt hasn't been regulated. Yet, all this talk about having stars and battle rap being a sport gets thrown around; I'm not feeling it. So...ok, we have "stars" like Surf who excuse shyt like choking and quitting in battles and say they won. This is why I don't like this shyt about wanting stars or superstars in battle rap. Very few of the dudes who work hard in this shyt like that rarely get to that point. Because the fans excuse choking, no shows, and all kinds of other shyt in battle rap that should have been regulated a loooong time ago. I can even stand NBA comparisons because they have rules...where the fukk are the rules in battle rap if thats the case?

So whats the general consensus here. If you choke a round away do you automatically lose the whole battle or just that round?

Good question. I generally say you lost the battle if you choke a round away. Its like if you choke and at least try to salvage it and bring it back to finish your round...I'm ok with that. You lose a little something but finishing your round is way more important. If you cut it too damn short...especially your last round...it feels like an unfinished fight to me.

You can’t really argue

Cor speaking that Truth. Anybody saying Surf was flames vs Nitty needs their fukking head checked. How you come out of jail spitting that trash? All those schemes/reaches were extra weak and just a variation of lines we've heard before... like that's x men shyt.

This is why I despise Surf stans too.. Like Surf was extra regular here with or without the choke, but somehow he beat Nitty.

You lost the round you choked in. The end.

My definition of a choke, is if you lost your place and takes you more than 10-15 seconds to get it back.

A stumble isn't a choke, cutting your round short isn't a choke.

Bad stumble or choke - lost round.

Choke the whole round - don't be mad when nikkas say you lost no matter what happened.

Me, personally, you lost the round and that's it.

@FreshAIG brings up a good point and so did @cornercommission2k12
I remember when nikkas would get all up in arms over a slip or stumble.
And slip/stumble is light compared to a choke.
shyt, that happened to Cal against Lux.
Cortez slipped in his 3rd against Shotgun.

With that said, Nitty had a slip but he made it worse when he admitting to fukking up. I think thats what made it bad. But quitting the battle with 30 seconds left? Are you kidding me?

This guy Cortez said he doesn't even want to battle Surf now. Lmao. :dead:

I blame battlerap.. y'all let this stupid nikka choke in every battle and still walk around like he's king. Y'all keep putting this dude in y'all top 3-5, yet he can't even finish 3 rounds. SMH
