Aight I finished Bodied.
So here's what I'll say.

The good: The shyt is well shot and the added graphics give it a nice touch. The actual actors in it were on point and it was dope they gave a lot of names in the battle community cameos in it. It definitely made me realize if Lux and Hollow were a 2 on 2 team, they would be sick with it. Didn't mind the plot too much. The messages of race, politics, gender, and etc. constantly throughout the film, I appreciated (whoever played Ben Grym's wife had the best rounds of the whole movie, lol).
The bad: Some cringeworthy moments, the main character not knowing how to rap but utilizing slam poetry to be able to battle rap was not something I was into. And also, climbing up the ranks in battle rap like that doesn't reflect the reality completely. A big exaggerated. I feel like it the ending was way too open-ended as well. Some of the acting from some of the battle rap personalities was pretty forced, too, and sometimes it seemed like it was just extra awkward.

Overall: I give it a 3 out of 5. I know a lot of y'all complained because it was more so from the perspective of the GT/KOTD/Scribble Jam/white demographic of battle rap and would prefer to see a film from the perspective of the SMACK DVD era based style. I agree....I want to see that, too, because it would be nice to have a battle rap film kind of like "Juice" and etc. But I like that its a start and quite a few of the greats, especially SMACK, got to be a part of this project in some form to pay homage in a way. I would have had more of a problem with that if they didn't do that. I thought it was cool and happy that it was based around battle rap but as a film overall...a tad overhyped. Gave me that indie film feel but I needed a bit more from the plot in the end.
You forgot to shout out the OG super killa Billy Pistolz:bustback:

I’m curious about y’all thoughts on RBE this year. I personally prefer when they throw multiple events, as opposed to the 3 events they had this year.

Why not have both?

KOTD’s cards don’t really cater to the urban crowd anyway.

I’m looking at the responses and wondering what do y’all really expect from a KOTD card? This is just like any of there other cards.

I guess after being somewhat quiet for the year folks expected something big for their 10 year anniversary card, the card doesn't really do that, hence the negative feedback.

I've been rocking with RBE for a while now so I'm glad to see them come up. However, that last event felt like it wasn't as good as end result at the Mook vs Verb event.
I say at this point, I hope they continue to keep putting together these cars and not do like UDUBB with their events.
