People with this "gassed" shyt are going too far.... Some people GENUINELY shyt they're cheering for.... We can't call shyt gassed because it's a bar that gets praise that's not our taste.

A good portion of battle rap is crowd participation. I'd say more than half. A dude can spit hot shyt all night, if the crowd's rejecting him then it's just gonna fall flat.

Hence the current trend of everybody bringing their entire group of homies to stand behind them. The live crowd is not given the importance it should be by the online fans who have longer attention spans.

But part of what makes battle rap interesting is the home field advantage. Make note of how guys love to just keep it local nowadays. Because everybody fears the hometown advantage. There's not enough people going places, like when Dot Mob went to St Louis, when URL went to Detroit. Those kind of things HAVE to happen, because they really mix things up and make battle rap interesting. Think about if URL sent like 3 or 4 dudes down to ATL for Spit Dat Heat. It's not like the URL guys would get shyt on, but you can't predict exactly what the reaction would be. But Smack is always scared of giving up that top spot, how people see URL as #1. So he won't take a risk like that, risk getting his guys embarrassed in another city. Its why everybody's cliqued up nowadays, nobody's REALLY taking any risks. The Rookies vs Vets card was a move in the right direction, but Smack clearly was showing preference to the vets there. And the rookies were coming from all over the place, so they weren't really united. I'll just say this, Smack does things for a reason. And it's not to give you dope battles, it's to see his stock rise to the top.

I dont want to watch this after the fight

just save it for sunday

I dom't see the problem. You don't HAVE to watch it right after the fight but it's available for those who do. I think it's a great plan. Always attach yourself to a big event if you can

I think it's a good plan. I think people who feel like they're a "part" of battle culture will definitely tune in. Lots of people sitting at home. I don't see it attracting many new fans. Everybody I know after that fight is just gonna be getting drunk, no way are they gonna sit and listen to a battle.

Just the fact that one has to pay SO much attention to a battle in order to really enjoy it.. I think that means battle rap itself is too complicated right now. I also think it means Clips and T-Top are the wrong ones to do this with, because they're rapper's rappers. Somebody like K-Shine or somebody like DNA, whos style is a little more easy to listen to and you don't really have to think about. Those are the kind of people you really want the new casual fan to hear for the first time. And I'll get flamed for that, and that's cool because you guys aren't the ones Smack is trying to reach, you're already fans. He needs people that aren't watching already. If they're jumping into a battle that has all these inside references to other battles, it's just too much. I still applaud this, because attaching to an event is always smart, like FreshAIG said

That's a dope idea tho ....hence that's the last battle from the card we actually care to see. Plus I get to see two W's back to back Pac-Man & T-top
