If Surf didn't choke in the first and blatantly cut his 3rd round short, I would have given him the win
From what I remember, Surf was worse in the building than he was on footage. I couldn't really enjoy his material until I saw the battle on Youtube. I think they cut some of his pauses/chokes out, his performance was a bit more disjointed that what you saw. He had already lost by the 3rd round, people just wanted to hear him get his material off. There was some weird stuff going on with the lighting onstage, not sure if that threw him off too.
And the schemes in Charlie's 3rd are FIRE, watching it now. That round is crazy. When Clips finished with the "8k" line that shyt tore the roof off. That's the same Clips we saw vs Rex imo. That's the Clips I'd pay to see.
This must NOT happen.

Just don't watch 'em. Sure they are meaningless, but I'd rather watch an NXW v Writers Bloque 3 on 3 over the average KOTD battle or whatever.
And if you notice the NWX 2 on 2's are concept heavy. They come up with ideas and themes that don't necessarily have much to do with their opponents. If they have a couple ideas in the can, then why stop doing them?

I mean, nobody is forced to watch them but the 2 on 2 wave is taking slots on cards and tying up pay day money that could be going to battles that aren't "meaningless"
Also if you go to a Smack event you pretty much would be forced to watch a 2 on 2 battle
I just think they are waste on time. Maybe OK once in a blue moon as a novelty, if the match makes sense, but now they're booking two on twos just because they're "hot". total wack juice to me
K-Shine vs Chess for instance would have been much better on SM5 than that fugazi tag team rematch

I think the 2 on 2's probably come across better in the building, we're forgetting all those people that went to Redemption and said the 2 on 2 would have been the best battle on the card if they had finished it.
It just doesn't work on the big Smack cards where you have to stop every 4-8 lines.
I want to see Chess v Shine, but I think Chess needs one more battle before that.
