I haven't listened to the interview.. but my impression of why URL blocks certain battlers is simple (and I think others have a similar view).

If URL is responsible for the battlers name being big (even if said battler worked themself up to the URL stage), then they block the battles to protect their own investment. If a dude diluting himself gives URL the perception of risking ticket sales, then you go cutthroat and keep that from happening. shyt ain't pretty, but it's part of this game, and many others.

As a fan, I don't like it for obvious reasons -- lost battles. But objectively, it's to be expected. In the NBA, if a dude's contract is up and you get a bidding war, you gotta bid that dude up or at lea

THATS OUR WHOLE PROBLEM. And hitman said it as well. If URL blocked them by bidding higher. That's just good business. Can't even be mad at that

URL is blocking chilla from doing the battle while also having NO INTENTION on booking the battle themselves nor paying him as much as hitman was paying him (At least for his current booked battles)

URL is still the NBA. It's that simple

Yup. And lol at Chilla signing his life away. First battle back was 7/25/15. Let's just say he is completely dedicated to Smack URL in 2016. Think about how much bigger his name will be at the top of 2017. We see what URL did for Tay Roc, we see what they did for Suge. Chilla is just as hungry as they are, and really has proven himself more than they did when they started getting that push. The only things left for Chilla are to kill that URL mainstage and establish himself as a ticket seller. Chilla changed the game, but he can't cash in on it until he proves himself on the biggest stage. Then he will start getting the celebrity cosigns, the pay raise, shyt he may be in a position to call Lux out by 2017 if he plays his cards right.
Hitman does not have a real business plan.

Can anyone tell me why Hitman Holla was so eager to pay everyone more than their asking price (sometimes double their asking price)?

Can anyone explain how his business model of starting big, then throwing smaller events and starting to build his own talent makes sense?

Can anyone address why he had such a hard time giving Suge 10k so we can get the grudge match everyone wants to see? Shine claims that's what he got to battle Hitman. Big Gerald even said Suge is probably worth more than 10 at this point.

Can someone let me know what it was exactly that Chilla lied about?

It's not unrealistic to think Hitman is doing certain things out of spite. These aren't logical moves.

Yea dude. I get the point of what you and others are saying.. But URL blocking a battle and URL booking a battle has to viewed as two separate business moves. If I block you from taking a battle that I think is going to reduce your appeal (whether due to saturation, bad matchup, whatever), I'm doing it to make sure YOUR name puts people in MY venue on whatever day I decide to book, and for whatever battle. I don't give half as many fukks about you getting paid.. I'm trying to maximize whatever moves I make, even if the move is simply "preserving" what your name can do for me. If all of this leads to URL both blocking a battle AND having it on their stage, so be it. If they only block the battle, there's still gain (perceived or real) in that move.

And just to be clear, I don't like it as a fan. I want to see the good battles/matchups the same way you do. I just see what's happening and can wager a pretty safe guess as to why. It's definitely not complicated, but I feel your frustration with losing battles.

I think the term "blocking" is not apprioprate in this case. URL gave Chilla (and others) an ultimatum. As a business its their right. If you decide to perform on a competing league we wont book you for ours. As a grown man you can decide to accept or decline.

I get it. The political situation sucks though.

Fans are being deprived of good battles. Assuming hitman's league has good production values, and given the supposed budget, they probably will.

Considering what we've seen in just the last two years, I'm not willing to make that bet.
