I don't think so.
KOTD style emcee's dominate the west coast battle rap scene. You still can't put together a strong, street style West Coast battle league using their own talent.
The west coast can't create their own Bullpen/RBE because the talent isn't there. It's just weird how big the Westcoast is and you can't find 10-12 nyggas who are decent enough to build a real league.
As far as Aktive, how is this nygga around nothing but rappers and hasn't progressed? I was hoping he would develop enough to the point that maybe he could battle Math, but he just isn't good.
Hold on guys. I know...before you go crazy, lets look at this way. Because I know what that post meant. Its more than just battles that go into something like that. @theflyest you always mention things about business in battle rap so I think its more than just someone from KOTD battling someone from SMACK URL under one league.
I think it was EA saying it and I got what he meant. Its like you take certain departments, keep some and eliminate others to make a cohesive company (I've been thru one and its happened to my department). Just an idea and I don't think it would go perfect. But SMACK URL, the foundation of course, runs the talent recruiting and the cards for the most part. Take how KOTD runs merch and how they do advertising with the Blackout Events or even how they did some of the presentation of the Bunker, would dope. Plus, you could get a combo of Twizz and Avocado working together on either the camera work and editing if they wanted to on both the east and west,
I agree that there are things both leagues could implement from the other, however competition is a good thing. The URL doesn't really need KOTD to create a quality website and merchandise. I have no idea why they choose not to.
Based on what your proposing, I'm surprised you would have URL doing the talent/recruiting. As touched on a few pages back, your taste has always appeared to be more on the KOTD style of rapping. I really thought you would be more interested in a "blended" league.

Diz and Cortez are cool and have chilled together multiple times since the fight. It's well documented
I disagree in regards to them battling again. Cortez likes to desperately show publicly that he's loyal to Math. If there's an opportunity for him to go at Diz on social media, he will do it. It's wack, because he is trying to create tension like he has something to prove.
He probably likes Diz better than Math anyway, just like Hollow, but it would just look crazy publicly.
None of these battle rap nyggas like Math lowkey. They stood around and watched him get stomped out. You know they enjoyed the shyt, rewinding it like O-dog in Menace, laughing hysterically.

Unpopular Opinions About Battle Rap
They dont need KOTD for merch and website shyt but keep in mind, with a merger, different working parts in comparison will takeover. Plus, in a merger, all these things are considered. You pretty much audit what works best and what you go can do away with on both ends to form a company. Now a takeover or buyout os different; you can gut the company however you want. Anyways, what im saying is that KOTD is consistent as far as merch not only thr league, the battle rappers, and the events. I think URL should push their merch more but they fall off a bit on it. Remember when Rex made that statement about that in that Flip interview? Yeah Rex wild but he was on point about that. Now URL with talent, I can't even front is top notch. They have picked up some of the best and gave them shots. Plus, KOTD did pick up a good chunk of part URL battlers so some of them would either get brought in or done anyway altogether. And the URL wants to expand hitting L.A., trying to URL south with TODD, and the UK. They pick up where KOTD started with Detroit and trying something again in Chicago as well.
Look, I'm just about giving credit where credit is due. That's all. But this is a good topic.
