How you manage to have these two in a movie (granted my man past his prime) and pass off such mid is crazy work. The tension never really rises to where it needs to be, the "shock" and awe of the car torture tactics wear off quick ass fucc...and the dialog sounds like everyone is tryna smarter than what these characters actually are.

If I was bro, I might just would've had to one myself rather than listen to the whiny babble of an old man :skip:

Don't get me wrong, not absolutely terrible but it just didn't know wtf kind of movie it wanted to be at the end of the day.

The scene where he took him for a ride was great though, but they could've taken it a step further but decided not to.

OG Wickerman had me thinking what are all the cops going to think when Buddy doesn’t return :jbhmm:

I know the message here is probably cult and religious adjacent.

I say it can go further into idiotic group think mentality.

That island full of dumb people burned dude down as a sacrafice thinking it will bring crops.

They all about to starve and die :russ:

Bone Tomahawk is a personal favorite of mine. It makes the wild west dark and scary like it damn well would have been. The cannibals are intimidating as hell, and half the "protagonists" are bad dudes themselves. Kurt Russell kills it too.

That kill is an all-timer. Art the Clown would be proud :mjlol: .

If you liked Bone Tomahawk, the violence in Brawl on Cell Block 99 has Vince Vaughn scrapping and crushing skulls in a similar manner. The dude that made Bone Tomahawk and Brawl on Cell Block 99 also made a Puppet Master movie (the Littlest Reich) but I think his Puppet Master movie is mid. Bone Tomahawk and Brawl on Cell Block 99 are dope to me.
Bro I just watched that Brawl on Cell Block 99….Had the :martin: the whole time.

Fool destroyed a whole ass car with his bare hands, just ripped the hood right off that bytch and tossed it :martin: moving in slow motion literally breaking backs in the dungeon of a castle to keep his unborn baby from getting its lil feets and hands amputated while still in the womb :martin: With bleeding sore feet he Moonwalked a nikka whole face off

Bone Tomahawk is such a great sleeper flick. I love putting people on to that one as others had put it on to me. Several of the review channels I follow have said Brawl on Cell Block 99 is a gritty good film. I didn't remember it came from the same guy that did Bone Tomahawk. I need to make a point to watch that flick. I've put it off for too long.

I'm kinda pissed that this was the best role I've ever seen Matthew Fox in and he hasn't done shyt since. I used to hate this dude whenever I watched LOST and he showed up with two of my favorite actors(Kurt Russell and Patrick Wilson).

I wasn't exaggerating about Vince crushing skulls :pachaha:. It's the most over the top violent shyt I've watched in a while.

I heard the horror movie Triangle took inspiration from this Spanish time travel movie called Timecrimes. On deeper investigation, that doesn't seem to be true. They were both in development during similar time periods. But I watched Timecrimes anyway, and it's a decent time-loop thriller.

A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.

It's a pretty self-contained story, with a handful of characters interacting. But it does a good job of establishing the day and showing everything from a new perspective thanks to the time machine aspect. The good is that it keeps everything tight, so that all the events add up in a way that fits together. You won't need a crazy map like people who watch Primer. The bad is the MC makes some weird choices, though I can give him space since he gets increasingly unhinged and desperate as he tries to set things right.

The handful of chases, particularly in the first half, are pretty intense and fun. The ending is a nice combination of being messed up but fitting some final pieces of the plot together.

I'd rate it as a decent time travel movie for fans of the genre. It's also fairly average for a thriller. It's not one I'm rushing to recommend to people, unless they love time travel movies, but it's a passable thriller.

5.5 outta 10. Triangle is better.

Did you watch the dubbed or the subbed version?
For this one, I found the dubbed version to be on a bad anime level of voiceover. :russ:
( like Star Blazers, 3rd series bad) (Space Battleship Yamato, for the purists!)
That killed it for me - I watched the subbed version years later, and it was much better.
