Alright yall, concussion has passed. I'm ready to start us setting up the 2025 Halloween 31 Days of Halloween list, with contributions from all of yall.

Here's last year's list:
31 Horror Movies for October

I've historically left Fridays as "Choose your own" to leave some freedom and ease of use for people. The rest has generally just been a free-for-all. Every year, there are some brand new movies that drop. I don't have a list of the new stuff, so please let me know if yall know of any new movies that are dropping in October and we can throw those on as fresh viewing (I know we're getting a VHS Halloween).

Otherwise, quote my latest post with your picks. Try not to pick too many at once, to leave room for the rest of the posters. But also, don't be shy about adding picks, we've had a few years where I had to fill in the last few slots last minute because we didn't get enough suggestions. I also tend to aim for no repeats from the previous year (not counting the obvious Halloween on the 31st).

If you have picks, just do me a favor and quote my latest post with the list. Add your pick to whichever open date you'd like, and whenever you can, please include which streamer is carrying it to make it easier for us to find and watch it. It's a great chance to introduce slept-on horror movies or revisit something you like with a crew to discuss the flicks with.

My kickoff pick is a microbudget gem that I've mentioned a few times before. It incorporates some found footage elements, and has a bit of an anthology vibe since it tells three stories in the same house.

Finally watched 'Infinity Pool.' What a strange little movie this was. It definitely had an interesting concept and Mia Goth/Alexander Skarsgard were really good as the leads. I had no idea where any of this was going, it's quite unsettling at times. What was the deal with the penis and the guy who looked like he didn't have a penis at all Lol. Rich Americans basically getting away with murder in foreign lands is a trope that is always interesting to me, they are always the biggest scumbags you've ever seen. Probably because it's true. Cronenberg's kid might have something, he certainly has some talent behind the lens but some of it came off as try hard as well.

Only reason I haven’t watched strange harvest is cuz my cheap ass can’t find it. Been binging on found footage. Was entertained by that vampire version of the Blair witch. Like a decent tubi flick for the moment. Can’t wait for the it series and vhs and when I finally find strange harvest…. :wtf:

31. John Carpenter's Halloween

Thanks for the additions folks. I'm keeping to my theme of adding movies I recall liking but haven't watched in a long time. This time, I'm adding Jackals to the list.

My free watch considerations:
VHS Halloween (definitely watching this on the tenth, right as it drops).
Reincarnation (I had this pegged for the list but it's not on any streaming services)
Sleep (I actually want to watch the Dubbed version to compare to my experience with the subbed version, which was one of the best horrors of 2024)
The Night House (I just love it)
Haunt (I watch it every October, it'll be a free choice or just an extra watch)
The Collector (I almost added it to our list, but I wanted to go with lesser-known movies for my contributions)
Funny Games (Confession: I've never watched the original...only the remake)

I wasn’t as disappointed. For the moment, enjoyed it for what it was. Red head tried to keep your eyes on the screen. I didn’t fall asleep. On to the next
Yeah, it was just incredibly basic for me. It hit the marks, and the actors weren't bad though their characters were kinda grating. I think that's what gave me trouble; I couldn't stand any of the characters.

I really liked the film 'Haunt' directed by Woods and Beck of 'A Quiet Place' and 'Heretic' fame. They really make the most of a small budget and unknown actors. I liked the premise so I said what the hell. A bunch of college kids go out to the club on Halloween but decide to venture to a haunted house walkthrough to end the night. I hate being in close quarters so some of these scenes had me fukked up lol. I enjoyed this.
