Absolute Bane has been the best Batman antagonist in years, and this arc is still going.
I was looking forward to a more grounded Joker, but I trust this will be great either way.

USM :ohhh:

Hickman's typical "big twist/surprise" came from someone I was not expecting. Feels kinda from left field, but I like that it propels things forward and sets up the last 3 issues being a true ending of his run.

How y’all feel about Absolute Harley? Some people are switching up on Absolute Batman because of this design.

I might be in the minority, but I'm looking forward to this Age of Revelation storyline in X-Men. I love alternate universe X-men stories and I'm not really keeping up with things post-Krakoa.

My only issue is there's no way in hell that Wolverine is running up on and killing Magneto (while Magneto knows he is coming). Hard for me to get past that part.

I've already bailed on this era of X books. Shyt is beyond boring. It's a chore to read.

So I have zero excitement for this event.

I'll read it, but Im not gonna lie I'm tired as hell of alternate timeline x-men stories.

The X-Men are played out tbh. Though that's part of the larger discussion that most of the big 2 IPs are played out/spinning in circles, and even when they have a spark with a new concept (Venom King in Black) or a refreshing remix (Immortal Hulk) they inevitably either fukk it up or it resets to status quo anyway.

It's why the Absolute and Ultimate lines feel so refreshing, since you know the shyt that happens will stick (for as long as the lines exist anyway) so you only have to worry about them not fukkin things up.

I liked the concept of space knight venom, but were never getting that again. Instead were saddled with knull and whatever they want to keep doing with him. As for the xmen, I said from day one they would have to keep do8ng krakoa for a while. Because you can't go from big timing on your enemies and allies alike to begging for sympathy for your plight right after.

Both the absolute line and the new ultimate line work best as short runs.

I know the status quo isnt the most exciting but it books ends really good runs. The issue right now with X-men is they don’t want to just go back to the status quo and instead they are playing with the corpse of a great Krakoa run. A return to the school or maybe taking over a town would have all been better than what they are doing.
