Honestly? Like, honestly... I'd hard reset the bullshyt every 10-years :manny:

I don't mean reset to the status quo but to the very fukkin beginning on some whole new universe with whatever surprise twists (like what you got with the Ultimate universe) and say, ok you cowards that 616 shyt dead, this the mainline now and you got a decade to fukk with it before we do it again :pachaha:

Definitive beginning, definitive end. If you kill a muthafukka, he dead dead until the next hard reset. Oh, Spidey gon be a grown ass man with kids for the next 120 issues?? Better strap (them baby strollers) up! :mjlol:

I'm only half joking
I would say every 20-25 years. That way every person from kid to young adult can have a cannon for their generation.

At the time i was going back and forth with this (decade vs 2 decades) because thinkin back to our generation (let's say those of us 40 or younger), we would be 2000-2020... but when you look at each decade, the strongest synergy is often within a 5-7 year stretch.

i.e. Bendis's era: Disassembled (2004) through Siege (2009) is a self-contained cannon for a generation of Avengers fans.
Hickman's era: Fantastic Four (2009) or Avengers/New Avengers (2012) through Secret Wars (2015) is damn near it's own canon.
Neither really got jack to do with each other. More-so, both were so immersive with so many events yet neither even lasted a decade.

Not as familiar with the X-Men, but Morrison's New X-Men was 3 years and the "No More Mutants" fallout was shortly after, followed by the Hope saga to round out the decade. Then the 2010s rolled around with what, Hope getting bushed for... teen x-men, c00n Beast, militant Cyclops, and a versus competition with Inhumans?

So yea, part of the root cause is how disorganized everything is anyway lol. Which is why is settled on a decade just to keep it concise and focused. But again, semi-serious :pachaha:

I wonder if actually using the multiverse to tell these finite stories would work though. Marvel did it with this new UU and peoole are complaining about it being too short of a run :heh:

Sure, a decade should be enough to get everyone ready to move on to the next thing but "main continuity" is something so engrained in Marvel that it seems like an imposible task

I agree there would be complaining for sure, tho part of it depends on the rollout... which Marvel already botched the perfect alleyoop* for.

Even then, would you say DC is a good example of how doing a shyt job of it (was it twice over? with Flashpoint/New 52 and... was it the Watchmen reset?) is still a survivable offense? lol Prior to N52, DC was basically where Marvel still is right? And iirc the N52 launch started off hyped, but ofc their issue was they didn't want to commit to the reset (i.e.bat family) + shyt creative decisions. Now i don't even know what their continuity is, yet ppl still buying the fukk outta Batman books

*Hell, Hickman threw Marvel the best lob pass possible with Secret Wars. Literally the best reset button ever... All New All Different Marvel could've been what the current Ultimate Universe is (instead of peak "pandering" as it became known as) and i think the comic community would've been down for it. Unfortunately that boat sailed.

Abnett and Hickman did that issue of Imperial and it was really good. It had that Abnett and Lanning GotG feel.

The reveal in Avengers was lame but no one should be surprised when Kang is involved.

I been reading “Power Fantasy” trades gettin in to the series…..after issue #11, I can’t wait! I read the spoilers from fans on Reddit…..I’m waiting for somebody to drop the pics of the actual surprise. I love this book!! I thought I’d never be into a superhero book with no action in it lol! Not gonna front though, I was kinda disappointed they didn’t show Valentina n Queen fighting in that “Summer Of Love 2” case.
Power Fantasy is my shyt! I went into #12 blind and it was dope as fukk Etienne is him! Like I am hoping this series gets animated
