I can see this sticking. The current batch of F4 writers clearly don't want to deal with Valeria or Franklin (why he's depowered). They were fun characters to write when they were kids, but it doesn't seem like anyone knows what to do with them as teenagers.
Valeria has never been on one of the young Avengers teams? Sounds odd.

It's like Hickman lurks the coli and CBR black panther threads and does everything we want for the character

It's as if one of yall is Jonathan :ohhh:

@Jmare007 it's you isn't it? :ufdup:

Keep up the good work, but we on to you now :ufdup:
If I was Hickman I would've jumped to DC years ago :mjlol: I get that Marvel pays him a lot of money for minimal effort but the only project he will see to its real end being the new Ultimate Universe "ending" in the hand of another writer is :dead: If anything, I'd ask for complete liberty for Star Wars. Just let him cook with the Force and lightsabers. I bet he'd come up with an idea that fans would beg to be adapted for a movie....

I'd love for him to be motivated enough for a 50 issue run in Black Panther but he just doesn't have that kind of drive anymore for Marvel. He probably does for DC though, I'm still shocked they haven't been able to get him, specially now that Bendis is off their books and he's finished every corner of Marvel he could write for (including Aliens, lol).

All that build up to Imperial #4 and it was just to do a soft reboot of the space books. I was expecting something more…. this might be the least satisfying reboot Hickman’s done and his second miss for me after G.O.D.S. Which also suffered from being pointless.

Imperial was always advertised as that though.

G.O.D.S. failed in a bigger way because it was evident Hickman gave up on the project by issue 4 or 5 once editorial told him the book was canceled. It had mpre promition than any other book he did besides HoX/PoX.

I didn’t see the advertisement, but it’s still crap. I didn’t know that about G.O.D.S but it started weak too. It would have worked better as an original IP or if he had swapped out the main character with Dr. Strange.

Honestly the whole Imperial series would have been better if they let Maximus usurp the throne. The most notable thing in all of this is Nova punched starlord and told him to fukk off. That’s another example where Nova could have taken control or Starlord could have betrayed him.

They “killed“ Gamora and Shadowhawk and Captain Marvel doesn’t show up at all when the Inhuman’s take over the Kree though she was involved in the beginning. The whole thing is not well written. Even as a starting point for other books.
