Dont lecture us about republicans now. I was saying vote blue No matter what when y’all were crying about Gaza last fall
You saying "vote blue no matter who" is exactly why the Republicans won, dummy. You're side was in control of the campaign, refused to engage with the issues my side was bringing up, and lost. If you actually took the concerns of the people who were considering voting for you seriously instead of dismissively telling them to shut up and vote, perhaps you would have gained more votes.

You're saying this as a non American who claims to have phone banked for Kamala? Right?

Trying to figure out what @wire28 to this thread let alone this section. The guys unhinged at this point lol
I used to think he was just a typical misguided shytlib but I've come to realize he's actually a classic moron desperate for attention. He keeps obsessively quoting that mastermind post like it's an own because he's genuinely not cognitively capable of following this issue, or any others we discuss in here, so he resorts to pissing his pants and pretending like he's doing a bit. The next time he makes a cogent, salient post will be the first time.

...yes, I was one of tens of thousands of non-citizens who campaigned and donated to political candidates? I was directly speaking to potential voters trying to get them to support Kamala. What do you find funny about that? Or are you one of the idiots who doesn’t know how your own elections work?

His entire post history since the election is basically moronic "dunk on the progressives" lower learning quote tweeting shyt posting behavior; furthermore over the past 6 months I'm not sure he has personally provided any insightful commentary or if he ever has had the capability to do so. I'm also unsure if he possesses the cognitive ability to give any actual discussion from his own useless membrane to discuss what's going on in Israel. Wire28 has basically regulated himself as you have alluded to stalking mastermind daily to " dunk on the arabs" .It's honestly very strange deranged unhinged behavior Joe Biden probably has a higher cognitive score after the election than him.

It really says something that he prefers trumps America to his country of unknown origin we still have yet to identify because of his shame.

But based on his posting history he has long preferred Trump as the liberator of black people worldwide so it all makes sense in retrospect.

This post is very instructive. Because what you're saying is that you're more interested in reforming the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, because you think it's easier to transform a bunch of right-wing oligarchs and their phalanx of rabidly white supremacist supporters drawing on the deep historical reservoir of American racism and classism into good, productive, humane, virtuous citizens than to make the Democratic Party support the same socio-economic program that every other peer nation's Liberal party supports. It turns out you're actually far more pessimistic about the character of the Democratic Party because you think they can never become strong enough to will themselves into power by growing into the political moment, so you have more faith in the Republican Party to find their morality for the first time in history.

The Democrats are not a progressive party right now, they are a centrist party, so I'm not sure how you're hanging their losses on the head of progressives.
Yes I’m very cynical, In an ideal world it’ll be more constructive for the health of the country if the Republican Party was reformed to be liberal center right, otherwise because of how extreme they are they will continue to push the Overton window to the right.

Before anything can be fixed in this country the two competing ideologies need to be unsevered into one reality

To reform the Democratic Party in your image your asking for them to overcome fascist and capitalistic interest, in my opinion that’s too much of a Herculean task for our current environment.

Vaush makes a good point about socialism and he says that socialism is more sustainable if it is born out of liberalism than fascism.

You see how the oligarchs reacted to Lina Khan meddling in their business, they all flipped and supported Trump completely. That would be multipled by 100 if Progressive anti capitalistic interest took over the party, they would be besieged by both sides.

If the environment was different and Republicans were center right liberals the contrast wouldn’t be as stark and a progressive socialist Democratic party would only have one hurdle (capitalist interest) with the fascist threat being neutralized.

That’s why IMO FDR was able to tame the capitalist class so well. He only had one adversary and not someone like Trump or MAGA who would divide the popularism of the country

He’s  that one of his BFFs has one of the WOAT takes this board has ever seen about Arabic Donald Trump voters being vindicated and it triggers him (and the euros with so much free time they got alt accounts) that I refuse to let anyone forget it :mjlol:

When he isn’t praying posters are victims of terror attacks or being placed in chattel slavery, he’s trying to play HL moderator :camby:

There are a few people on this board that legitimately need a mental health specialist and unironically a few of them have posted within the last hour or two

Then... push the Democrats to be better. If they do better then their brand will be better. You want people to shut up about their shortcomings so that compared to the Republicans they'll appear better by default... What kind of insipid bullshyt is that? :mjlol:

Level the playing field so that the Democrats are better by default which will force the Republicans to do better and not be a party of evil.

If Republicans no longer act like a comically mustache twirling villain then maybe the reforms and social programs you want to pass will actually have a chance.

Republicans shouldn’t be given a pass to be the evil choice by default.

The distance between the current Democratic Party and the current Republican Party is far greater in ā€œpiousnessā€ for the people than your aspiration Democratic Party and the current one.

I don’t see how you can fail to realize that the problem with this country are the Republicans. Not the Democrats.

Imagine if America had two parties competing for the votes of all of Americans instead of one having to carry the sole burden of being adults in the room; the other’s sole focus is to keep their sheep indoctrinated and vote against their own interest while getting a constant pardon for being evil.
Both of you are making a good point. @Conan is right that we can't shield Democrats from criticism just because the GOP is worse. If we don't push them to be better, they'll remain stagnant, and people will continue to lose faith and stay at home. At the same time, @Outlaw is right that even a bold, principled Democratic Party can't do much if the opposition is a party that thrives on obstruction and bad faith.

We shouldn't have to choose one side here. It's not "either hold Democrats accountable or focus on the threat of Republicans." It's both. We need to push Democrats to be bold and principled, not just "better than Republicans." We also have to recognize that as long as the GOP is structurally incentivized to act as a fascist-adjacent, anti-democratic force, systemic progress will remain fragile.

That's why we have to advocate for structural reforms that weaken the GOP's ability to win and hold power through minority rule. Because unless Democrats are strong *and* Republicans are reined in, we'll stay stuck in this destructive spiral.

I’m curious who has said ā€œdo not critique democratsā€. That’s pretty obvious to push the party forward. what’s not obvious is some people’s fascination with reflexively saying ā€œbut the demsā€¦ā€ whenever someone brings up the immense harm republicans inflict daily.

The end is the main point, which one would think everyone would agree with but apparently not.
