I think both sides have a point; Native Land (which objectively is not a good podcast and now has AIPAC shill Bakari Sellars on it) is correct in that the show does step on anything intellectual which is doing Marc a disservice.
But they are coming from a place of DC Boule black elitism (especially Angela Rye), not a place of true concern. The attack on Queenzflip (calling him a fool, a pig, saying his doesn’t have intellectual capacity) are how they view black people outside of their circle in general. They have no respect for any black person they don’t deem as an elite (HBCU grad, frat member, worked in DC, etc).
That is why the show is not more popular and why Angela Rye/Tiffany Cross/Bakari Sellars are not well-liked. Andrew Gillum had the most balanced and correct stance imo.
However, Marc is not blameless and neither is Joe. Joe thinks in dollar signs about everything and has never thought having ANY type of responsibility to community. It’s getting worse as everyone heard last week. He wants them to fight so he can monetize it. That’s c00nery and buffoonery.
If you had no idea about the podcast and only saw the clip last week (which many people did), you would think it was some Love and Hip Hop, reality show trash. That’s on Joe for promoting it. Can’t be mad how people consumed it.
Edit: finishing up the JBP, they sound just as corny as Native Land but instead of talking about intelligence, they’re talking about how much money they have. Flip having money from acting like a literal clown is not a flex.
Native Land looks down on the audience based on intellect, and Joe has always looked down on his audience based on money. They are more alike than they are different
