that he was never the best player in the league?! Are nikkas really serious about this?! And I have seen this on this forum one multiple occasions.

That shyt just :mindblown:

He was the best player in the league for at least 4 years, from 2006 - 2009.

Stanning aside, I really don't get it.

This nikka losing sleep over someone talking shyt on Kobe. What an awesome life you must have.

I've never looked at best player on a year by year basis, but rather for a period of time. Post Jordan you could say Shaq during the 3peat, Duncan after the 3peat, and Kobe from '06 to '10 had those periods as the best, and LeBron is in progress right now. It's not a position any kevin, chris, or paul could get. :ld:

chris paul was the best player imo in 07-08, then its been bron ever since. id give kobe the nod in 05-06, and the 06-07 seasons. every other season in his career someone else bested in in that particular season. like i said, im in the middle of the argument. i dont think hes been the best in a bunch of seasons, but theres been a couple where he was. its moreso trying to find what the kobestan baseline for best player in the league is, and clearly was a futile effort

Funny how none of the detractors will touch the fact that EVERYONE associated with the NBA had Kobe as the best for much of the last decade.

Its almost like ya'll nikkas are saying the coaches, GMs, and players don't know basketball. But you John Hollinger wannabes do. :umad:

I thought Kobe was the best player BY FAR from 05-09. And almost all the coaches, GMs, and players agreed with me. Including LeBron who most of you nikkas are trying to make arguments for. I'll stick with Bron and the coaches on who the best was. :yeshrug:

So again, you want me to believe you over the words out of Lebron's own mouth?

DIrect question: Who's the best player in the NBA?

Lebron's answer: Kobe Bryant

Question: Better than you?

Lebron: I would have to say right now.

No. His perennial playoff failures till last season should be the smoking gun. And don't even try to flip this on Kobe by pointing out he didn't make it outta the first rounds in 06 and 07. Kobe never had a team finish with the best record two years in a row and NOT EVEN MAKE THE FINALS. Kobe never looked as inept as Bron did in 2011.

09,10,11 are all black marks on Bron's resume not years to be celebrated. He had the best team (record-wise) for pretty much all those years and still ended up not winning. And in some of those cases had some pretty epic choke jobs. Game 5 in 2010. The entire finals in 2011. etc.

you do realize you can be the best player for the decade without being the best player in most of the seasons, right? you jackasses think its a slight to say "well he wasnt the best that year" acting like i said he was shyt that season, when in reality maybe only one or 2 other guys were better that year. its like talking to fukking preschoolers

Lebron James says Kobe Bryant is the best player in the league on 60 min(2009) - YouTube

So again, you want me to believe you over the words out of Lebron's own mouth?

DIrect question: Who's the best player in the NBA?

Lebron's answer: Kobe Bryant

Question: Better than you?

Lebron: I would have to say right now.

and it wasn't just LeBron

pretty much every player, coach, and GM said Kobe was the best

it was DEAFENING

in fact it was acknowledged even moreso than LeBron until this past season

I've only seen Bron get those props as loudly as Kobe did just this past season. Before that it was crickets.

dunno what that has to do with me post

my point is that during those individual seasons in question, 07-08 and 08-09, that you claim Kobe wasn't the best........almost every player/coach/GM said he was

even Bron in 09 when he won MVP said Kobe was better

just stop it

Kobe was UNIVERSALLY acknowledged by his peers as the best from 05-09. There was no question during those years. I'll take the word of NBA players, coaches, and GMs over John Hollinger anyday of the week.

Put together a video montage like the one I showed earlier showing me any other player get as much love during those years as Kobe. :shaq2:

yet he only has one mvp, despite being hands down, universally regarded as the best by everyone involved in the game. stew on that a bit

:russ: catching feelings I see.....don't have any rebuttal to the fact every player, coach, and GM said Kobe's the best

remember that MVP voting is done by the media NOT the coaches/GMs/players.....people who actually know basketball know whats up

BTW Shaq only has one as well.....while Steve Nash has two

NBA writers have alot to answer for. Kobe and Shaq's being the most glaring. They are the two best players post-MJ IMO and its a joke that they have as many MVPs combined as Steve fukkin Nash who has never even played in the finals. :snoop:

so @Absolut do you realize how dumb and crazy you look defending someone that was caught on video numerous times saying Kobe is better than him? Some people need straight jackets for that type of behavior.
