my 3770k has had me eating good the past three years..wondering if it's time for a upgrade or should I wait a few more months. I mean tax returns coming in...but my rig aint bad at this point either.
Nah your good breh, the 3700k is still a very solid cpu, tech is slowing down at the moment. Going from a 3700k to a 6700k won't wow you.

You're good for awhile. Things like easier overclocking and support for ddr4 ram are what the new processors bring but performance wise it isn't worth you dropping $400 imo.

The problem with this is that you need 3 USB 3.0 ports for the oculus rift. Why only 2 here, I dunno :mindblown:
maybe they assume people already got a couple usb 3.0's up front. or maybe they're just thinking of the headset, and not the other peripherals

I'm thinking about upgrading my video card. I was looking at the GTX 980ti. Should I upgrade to this card or wait for Pascal or the new cards AMD will release this year?

If you can, wait. Pascal is supposed to be a big step forward. Last rumors I heard was that they were gonna release them in April. That's just rumors of course, but it's not too far off.

The 980ti is a beast though. Either way, if you wait, you'll either get Pascal cards or a cheaper 980ti.

Nothing is really coming out in the next few months (minus Quantum Break) that would require a super fast gpu anyway. Now if you bought the Oculus Rift, like I did, you might wanna upgrade now.

Thanks I will wait it out. Will the new AMD cards be any good?

Brehs I'm getting into the documentary game....got a 4k DSLR camera and I was looking to buy a work station but I'm hearing you can build a good one at less than half the price..is this true??:jbhmm: I need a work station that can handle high quality video editing with serious speed, highly efficient processor, 4k resolution input/output (video cards etc...) , ram specs, motherboard, speakers, body/frame, card slots, Ethernet ports, WiFi cards, and whatever else is needed for complete machine...I know its a lot so I will take whatever help I get brehs...:feedme:
Look into the 6 core i7 5820k and atleast a 970 gtx.

They're supposed to be, but AMD always says that. The Fury's were rumored to be faster than the Titan X before it came out, but that didn't actually turn out to be true. The 300 series is also just a rebranded 200 series with more VRAM. I kinda lost faith in AMD :francis:
