Why do you f*ck with the brotha Tariq?
I feel as though Tariq pushes the line of what needs to be discussed when it comes to black american issues. Tariq doesn't have an intellectual or scholar persona to defend/lose so it allows him to say things other can't. It allows him to take risks. In some cases Tariq is the first person to "break the glass" on a topic and he will soak up all the negativity for that, then the scholars/intellectuals come through some time after that talking about that issue that was once taboo. Examples, being things like tangibles, the black brown fake coalition, exposing african american c00ns, exposings immigrant c00ns, and one that people don't really discuss is there was a time where people on mainstream television didn't say the phrase "white supremacy" when talking about the average white person. "White supremacy" was like a bad word and only used for the most extreme cases up until a few years ago. I do think Tariq, and people like him, pushed that line of rhetoric so that we can openly address it.
I also think he has an underrated amount of knowledge about history related to blacks in america.
With that said, the same reason i fukk with Tariq is often his biggest flaw, he takes risks and pushes the line sometimes when it's not called for.
