Family Guy jumped the shark YEARS ago

True, but that scene and everything that led up to it was their equivalent to Fonzie physically riding his bike over the shark tank. The introduction of Vinnie + death of Brian will always be Family Guy's visual embodiment of their shark jumping moment, even if it occurred seasons prior.
